stock exhaust will aid in back pressure making the idle stronger. gearing will too... but you dont need it.

changing the plugs will make the idle stronger too.

rumor is that the 08 ninja 250's come with a circle button on the trippletree, maybe you should get rid of the 636 and get one of those till your ready for a big boy bike.
