2001 R1 help

2001 R1 help

i just bought a 2001 R1 and i need to do just a little work to it.... it needs a air box, gas cap , side and front fairings...... it will start up but keep dieing, i think becase there it no air box i am not sure where the hoses go from the airbox and 2 off the side of the carbs go.... anyone know where to hook all these hoses to? thanks for any help

get an airbox..... you should be able to figure out where the hoses go then.

you can find anything with google there will be a online diagram.....I just sold my 01 r1 two weeks ago otherwise i could post pics

The bike will run without the airbox, it's carbed so I don't think there are any sensors attached. You probably have a vacuum leak somewhere.. if not check to make sure you are getting fuel and the carbs aren't dirty as hell.

chances are though, unless its jetted to run without an air box, then it will run like ****

And even when jetted, its still hard to get a carbed bike with the air box removed to run right
