My opinion on the new Full Throttle Inc. Handbrake

To start things off I wanna say that I am in no way sponsored by Full Throttle Inc., I am giving my honest, unbias opinion on the new FTI hb.

OK here it goes...so I got the new set up a couple weeks ago. I was kinda hesitant on how this setup was going to work. I am one of those that is gifted with not being able to bleed handbrakes for ****. Well anyways, So I attempt to put it on and it goes together easier than I thought. :YEAH The instruction he included with it were very detailed and helped a lot with the bleeding process. I had to tinker with it for a few minutes to figure out the best way to run the lines, but when it all was done and ran...it is super clean. I got it all bled, which took about 20 minutes to get the initial bleed. With this system, I noticed that it is very necessary to bleed, get pressure, then go out and ride for 30 minutes or so, then come back and bleed out the excess air bubbles that rose to the bleeder on the fti master.

I went out the day after I got it all bled up and I have to say that this thing is awesome. I have it on the 3rd, out of 4, setting and this thing is POWERFUL. It is soooo smooth and buttery, it makes me excited just thinking about my hb working so well. I am coming from a dual cal brembo 16x18 with galfer pads, and this thing works soooo much better. :YEAH I tend to crash a lot and i'm very glad to have this super nice asv clutch as my lever. I am very pleased with this hb set up in every way.

If anyone is thinking about purchasing a new hb setup, I highly recommend this one. It's far cheaper than running dual cal, and has a lot of benefits over dual cal. I am attaching some pics to show how I ran it and to show everyone how clean you can make your front end. I love having no reservoirs on my front end....those things bug the hell out of me.

I put a CRG rollaclick on mine and I like it. I am still thinking about going back to a dual caliper setup because however much more power it has I still get wigged out by how many parts there are involved and the clutch cable. I don't know though, maybe after I use it for a while longer I will gain more trust in it, until mine fails or someone else's does and then it's going in the trash.

thanks man. Yeah I felt teach's also. It's wierd how it feels. It's pretty much the same pressure all the way to the bar, but if you go to a certain point, it just locks up the tire. I'm used to the 16x18 spongy brake tho so this was nothing to get used to. I love it.

Re: My opinion on the new Full Throttle Inc. Handbrake

How is it cheaper than a dual cal setup? $405??? Damn! I pieced together my single piston dual cal setup and it works fine. I'm not doing anything like nubmer 2 though... Maybe I should spend the money.

Re: My opinion on the new Full Throttle Inc. Handbrake

dual cals are expensive...brembo 16x18 $275, long steel braided line $60, dual cal bracket $225, caliper $50, and extra set of brake pads $30. That's $640. Compare that to a very nice setup that I have had better luck with for only like $435. Either way, i'm not trying to sway people one way or another...i'm just saying this system is pimp.

make sure everything is tight #2....i originally thought the bleeder screw came loose when i was doing a 2nd gear coaster and all of a sudden had no rear or handbrake but after further review the bleeder was actually tight. I'm going to look over it more tomorrow and will hopefully have an accurate explanation of what went wrong. But as an fyi to save others some ***/back skin, everything was working fine when i went up the track and next thing i know going back down the track, wammmm, brake pedal to the floor and the bike falling on my head ...not bashing just trying to help others out
