Re: My opinion on the new Full Throttle Inc. Handbrake

I cant help but think it would feel like pulling a clutch in as its cable to start with. Do you have the feel like you do on a duel cal??

I'm loving duel cal at the min, its like the feeling the front brake gives you. does it still feel like that?

Also, on my old fullthrottle set up i couldn't go from foot brake to hand brake without 1 or 2 pumps, the duel took all that away. do you have that problem with this set up?

yea i witnessed this and it def was not cool....It seems like people are having trouble running this setup with ff also....I still dont know how this is better than a dc setup, other than being cheaper, you have no back up brakes and my dc brembo setup is strong as ****... cant see needing anything more

Re: My opinion on the new Full Throttle Inc. Handbrake

Nice description, the only thing I couldn't figure out is there is 2 brake lines coming out of that Fullthrottle master cylinder, one goes to the rear stock master and the other goes to the rear caliper. I had to go check on Fullthrottle.net for the details. Makes sense now but I had to go check.

I have the old Fullthrottle but it doesn't seem to work very good, it must be because it needs bleeded but I did it with a bleeder pump and seemed to be the best I could do. Or maybe my front master is working half ***? Works a lot better since I put a longer lever on it but I still need to press hard.

Compare that to a very nice setup that I have had better luck with for only like $435. Either way, i'm not trying to sway people one way or another...i'm just saying this system is pimp.
you can take off 300$ of that if you run a brembo just to a single caliper, which in essence what the full throttle is....it's not a dual so you can't really compair it to the dual on price.

i'm skeptical. this is how handbrakes originated on alex flores, tony d, and darius's bikes......they switched for obvious reasons. cables just aren't reliable....they stretch, flex, and fail a lot easier than a hydrolic system.

exactly. and if you do'nt run a 300$ master cylinder hten a dual cal setup is actually cheaper.

or run single with an expensive master. either way.

sceptical bout the "this is how handbrakes originated"

not hatin man, just i did use one few years ago, cabled home made one, pullin on the brake pedal (mountainbike brake lever), and was real not great.
But nothin was linked to a hydro device o whatever like this!
i think as long as u rout the cables right, so that they work as if it was stock, u can trust it for a while.
not hatin again, just givin my bout this, find the setup interesting, even if i'm quite happy with my magura 13+ stock caliper!

30 for rear caliper with pads from ebay.

445.

just an fyi cuz those prices u quoted seem a little high.

Re: My opinion on the new Full Throttle Inc. Handbrake

Mine is leaking slowly from the bleeder valve but I haven't had enough seat time since the last time I bled it to tell if it's residue that was left over in the threads coming out or something else actually leaking. I hope that **** never happens to me where your brake went out, and it was actually a mistake on your part.

Whenever I get the cash I think I'm going to swap to a magura dual cal setup with a 4 piston and galfer rotor.

Re: My opinion on the new Full Throttle Inc. Handbrake

What up Number2. Good review. I actually got the setup too and didnt really like it so I went to a brembo and FTI master conversion kit. BUT I just started learning how to use the HB a few weeks ago so I dunno. Maybe later when I get better ill give it a shot again. But for now I really like the setup I just put on. Oh and nice colors on the bike, it looks really familiar!

umm just an fyi...I don't run used brake pads off ebay...and like I said, I am not sponsored or anything, so i'm not trying to sell his product. I'm just giving my opinion on his set up. I have a brembo 16x18 with single piston dual cal on my other bike and it blows. Don't ask me how but it does. I am very happy with bill's product, and it has finally given me a hb I actually like. If you look at my front end, I have no little reservoirs zip tied anywhere. You can't get any cleaner.

Re: My opinion on the new Full Throttle Inc. Handbrake

i think the new ft hb is a great idea.... it does work i will give it that!! and it works good

all it really comes down to is how you like your hb to feel..... if you like or can get used to the cable feel then its for you

but if your like me and you like it when you grab your hb to have a point where you cant pull anymore and thats alll the power right there then maybe dual is for you!!

like i said i think its a good product!! and a great idea!! but i just couldnt get used to a cable feel and being able to pull the lever all the way to the bar feels weird to me.....

Can you run that setup on FF ? And it would be sweet to have two easy pulls.

Re: My opinion on the new Full Throttle Inc. Handbrake

i still wouldnt trust a cable in any brake system.
you can get a brembo without a dual cal. for just as cheap, upgrading to a dual cal. is just another upgrade worth every penny....
i dont know man....different strokes for different folks.....i wouldnt trade my hb setup for nothing, and plus i just put some double h pads on my fb and hb caliper and those things are insane!
