Quick question.....

Re: Quick question.....
Personally, I've never had any problems with my FI cage... but I have an F4i and FI cages are diesel on F4i's. But, unfortunately, they rip out motor mount bolts, crack stator covers, and the bike tends to fall onto it's clip-ons.

One of us has one on an 05 636. The "slider" looking piece that bolts to the motor, has broken its weld several times.
Junk cages in my opinion. SI has held up great for the rest of us.

Re: Quick question.....
the only trouble that i've had was not keeping the cage tight. it's the best looking cage out there.IMO. easiest to get on and off. the cage has done nothing but good for my bike, and damage to the bike/cage was cause i let the cage get loose, you have to keep them tight just like other cages.
cage are made to HELP protect our bikes from normal falls, spills that we encounter while rideing the way we ride. NOT FROM LAUCHING YOUR BIKE ACROSS THE LOT!!!END over end....... i'm very happy with FI.

That's what I thought too, but who's talkin about across the lot?
Three crashes like this, with EACH time tightening **** back up, and your are done??? I don't think so.
It's like cuttin the tip of ur peg down on ur rearset so that it doesn't have that lone initial contact point.
I knew once it dented in the frame on the FIRST toss that it was going to give me trouble. I would rather it have spread the impact out over the rest of my bike instead of takin a center punch blow like that right on the motor mount/ frame.... I'm actually glad my frame gave some and it didn't trash the motor!
For me it was a combination of things... inexperience, cage, lame footpegs, cheap hollow cast frame, not fully takin the time to brace up my frame like I planned... I can't just blame it on the cage cuz it impressed me intially on a spreader get off on the highway.
And Roger, I'm going to have to do something else about a subby cage, sorry bro! If I get another bike, I'll hit you up. I'm sick of the pass pegs flexin in and my feet slippin off the damn pass pegs...... Look what happened!
*edit* this is not the crash that busted my frame.....
