What's up John It's all about feeling comfortable and having that confidence on any bike you ride. Twitchy or not you'll know the bike's limit and will be fine on the R1. but if I were you I'd kill a Honda first before ruining that nice R1

JOE my friend i dont want to argue with u, but check out this site and tell me what u think, everybody knows that every dyno is set up differently unless u get more hp on the same dyno, it doesn t mean that u gained hp. Got it?
Anyways, u r going to learn a lot of things from this site. let me know if u got it. Later.

Re: 02 R1 Stunt?

this thread is right on time for me! I have an 02 R1 that I'm gonna turn into a stunt bike. As of today its stock and I plan to do small changes as I get used to stunting. I mostly ride canyons, and I've had this bike since new so I feel this is the best bike for me. Its paid for and I know how it performs. My first mods will be flipped clip ons and a cage. Once I get the basics down, I'll see what will make sense to do next.

Re: 02 R1 Stunt?

Any bike you mentioned is good for stunting, as long as it has a back brake

Your avatar shows you are not learning brake

No matter what bike you ride, learn rear brake. Seat standers later

that specific year r1 is anything from heavy and makes a decent stunt bike especially for a 1000, It is well balanced, smooth power, and easy to handle. I know this because i personally had two, and stunted them, no complaints.

dont listen to people with all their theories without any actual experience with it.

The one thing they do have right though is that the frame is softer, so if you drop it alot, your front end/neck is going to be messed up. you dont need to flip the clipons or none of that other bullshit. just put a cage on it, and rock it stock for now with the idle up in the lots, regular on the street. and as for a sprocket, you dont need a sprocket on your bike unless you already have balance point down solid. a sprocket wont help you do **** but flip it.

+1 i hear "that bike is too heavy" all the time, and what ppl dont realize is that the favored f4i is heavier than almost every liter bike out there. not that i would recomend stunting a liter bike because the power is hard to manage but its certainly not a weight issue.

Re: 02 R1 Stunt?

they surely are light.... mine felt like a paper weight compared to my old f4i... but at the end of the day like the others said...everybody is going to have a perference... so go with what feels good...or if you got...already just cage it and get it popping.... go hard or go home !!!
