02 R1 Stunt?

i dont see anybody stunting an 02-03 R1 and i was wondering if there is a reason to this? because its fuel injected, has plenty of low end power even with stock sprocket, has a bolted on subframe unlike previous models of R1, and has side exhaust pipe (not sure if that matters) so if anybody could tell me why this bike shouldnt be stunted that would be great

yes, search function...it means search the forums before starting a thread. u should know that after 42 posts

https://www.stuntlife.com/forums/search.php

but ya, pretty much any liter bike is too heavy, not to mention the throttle will be very twitchy.

Re: 02 R1 Stunt?

I think those bikes are pretty sick for the freeway so I think it's all what your intending to do.

Re: 02 R1 Stunt?

It s not a strong bike and wouldn t take the abuse, but where i live it s the top riders favorite bike, but they ride old school wheelies, highway, so they drop it a lot practicing slow **** like the guys in the state so when they wreck the rider dies with the bike most of the time.

Re: 02 R1 Stunt?

You can stunt a R1 man. The onlly thing is if your learning for the first time its going to be alot harder and you will learn slower. I had a 954RR I was stunting and thought I was making good progress. I switched to a 600RR and now im learning stuff 3x as fast. Bike is smaller and has just the right amount of power in a slow wheelie.Night and Day difference. 954 just had to much power which mad it real twitchy and if you barely moved the throttle well in a wheelie you better be ready with the brake . Hope this helps. R1 is possible :YEAH but its just so much nicer witha 600

no it wont ...the bike will be a little harder to control...but it is way more controlable then a 1000 with sprockets especially for a beginner...you are putting sprockets on a average 600 that is around 95-110 hp tops...a liter bike or a r1 is over 140hp and with sprockets that is done right nutty cause sprockets increase low end torque... you will be more twitchy then a crackhead with withdrawl syndrone... a had a 03 r1 and a 06 r1 ...stunted them both... and it was not a very good idea... progression is slow ,if you drop and you will parts are high as all get out for r1's, the balace point is super high almost 12 oclock , and arent many used parts around or good deals... i would keep rocking the highways with it...cause it murders that ... but only a accomplished stunter can rock a r1 in the lot....and i only know a few of them that can do it well.... i still got some left over r1 stunt parts if you decide to stunt it... pm and you can buy mine for a good deal

Re: 02 R1 Stunt?

to me one of the biggest point of why so many ppl rock a honda is the oil pick up tube is in the rear meaning while your in a wheelie your not starving the motor for oil, on a yamaha suzuki the pick up tube is up front so not so great unless you get a custom one made...

Re: 02 R1 Stunt?

ok thanks for the help guys i was debating on trading it for an 01 929 anyway so i guess ill do that unless there is a reason not to, but for the most part i haven't heard any complaints about them besides the weight compared to a 600. i don't want to sprocket the bike because i still want roast my friends on the thousands and i cant afford two bikes because of the fines i got to pay so i want a full fairing 1000cc stunt bike done up and i heard the 929/954 would be good for that

02 R1 has barly 116 hp on the rear wheel, and a 954 has at least a dozen ponies over it, but like the r1 guy said it has unbeleivable low and mid range that makes it very good for wheelies, just like the 929/954, like i told u guys the bike is very good for stunting but it s weakness is that it s not as strong as a honda or a gixer, it wont take the abuse. i dont know mabe if u cage it up or something... anyways that s what i think. and about stunting a 600, i think it s the way to go, much more forgiving than the bigger bike and more controlable, it s about power u can use.
