Re: 929 vs 1000rr front end

I never had a problem with the 929/954 front wheels... I really like the 929/954 front end on the F4i.

I was going to put a 1000RR front end on my next F4i but there's the issue with the steering stops, and I've heard about issues with the radiator... also, I'll prolly never roll stoppies well enough that a 929 front end would be sub-par.

Apparently i'm a hack and must slam my bike down way too hard

only big differance i know of between 929/954 and 1000rr front ends is that the rr has radial mount breaks and its a bit shorter to

all you have to do is trim down the stops on the lower tripple a bit and if you run a hohey upper tripple theres no need to lower the frontend causing the front fender to hit the radiator

I just did this... all you have to do is have the bearing pocket machined out about a mm (if that)... then machine out the left side inner bushing hole about 2-3mm.

Rotors mount up just fine. All you need is a set off 1000rr bearings and an inner sleeve/bushing. :YEAH

No need for any of that... if you run a HHD top triple then you HAVE TO run a 929 lower.... steering stop issue solved right there.

Just use 1000rr fork tubes.... the radial brakes are a nice upgrade... not that I can feel a difference... or can I... IDK

All i do know for sure is that the 1000rr fork upgrade feels 100000x better than my old stock f4i setup.... whether it's the radial brakes, the brembo 19/18, the rotor size or the forks themselves who the **** knows?

Once we really get into stoppie season up here that will tell alot..... (i upgraded over the winter)
