03 gsxr 600 motor question.. please help

03 gsxr 600 motor question.. please help

i got a 03 gsxr 6 and i had dead cylinder one.. i pulled the plug and the porcelain was broken.. well i tried to get it all out but some of it fell into the dead and is now knocking.. what do i do? should i go ahead and pull the head or what?

Depending on what youd like to do and how deep your pockets are, if you pull the head it can get expensive or you can search ebay and find a complete motor, i dont know if you know about craigslist but i usually find sumwat decent parts cheap off there but that is more a hit or miss either its there or not, but if you go that cbr 1000 then u can work on the gixx and still ride so repairing it isnt out of the question and is the most sensible thing to do, and while you there it never hurts to freshen the whole motor once again how deep are your pockets

not too deep. i started it up and i heard it in there.. i was thinking i can pull the head and get it out and just have to pay for gaskets. how much of a pain is it to pull the head?.. do i need to drop the motor. the bike only has 6 thousand miles on it.

+100000000000000000. if anything pull the head last try to get it out pulling just the valve cover turn the motor slightly with the vacuum on full suck and see if you can get it.

flush it out.. put some type of liquid in there. shake the thing and tip it upside down .. do it like 10 times.
