PS bend the lutch cable holder thing with a big *** philips screwdriver so the cable doesn't rub itself to failure.

way ahead of yea, i just grabbed some last night then when i got to the line i realized they were aluminum and went and grabbed some steel. i just use a bit the size of the rivet cuz they usually run a 1/16 or so small.

I had them add 10mm and I had to hammer it past the frame.

correction...

It's NOT the same, it's better... and for this reason:

An easy pull lever doesn't make the force on the cable or clutch arm any smaller, it's just making it feel less heavy but the stress/force on the cable/clutch arm are still the same.

HOWEVER, when you make the clutch arm longer, the force on the cable and clutch arm WILL be less!! and therefore it will be better for your cable, and it will feel even softer and easyer then with an easypull system.

Truth! For the same reason it's better to go up more inthe rear sprocket and no go down in the front. Less stress on the chain.

may be....I know the lever kinda "flops" about a 1/8"-1/4" before you start to pull it back..not alot, but I figured that was sufficient for slack

If your cable is too LONG after doing this mod, you're definitely hitting the crack pipe!

If anything, your cable would be too short when you make a longer clutch arm, not too long..

Look at your adjusters again, you definteily have an adjuster all the way lose or something

Mine was exactly 1/2" longer (12.5mm) and it hit the frame, but I just used a screw driver to bend it down to go past the frame, then used the screw driver to bend it up to clear the motor lol...

Ghetto I know, but 1/2" is the absolute MAX you can go.. If I woulda went 1 or 2 more mm I doubt it woulda bent far enough without dropping the motor

edit: OH ya and the clutch arm + MSR is definitely DOPE!

Everytime I get on my friends bike with ONLY a MSR, I'm like "damn that clutch is hard"

Then I hop on my f4i with the 1/2 mod + a msr, and its suppa butta!

Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.

Nice one KJ for this info......

just thought id post up.... i done this mod on my F4i (bolt up version) and you can have it as long as you want! i just took clutch casing off and made it 18mm long but when you put back together you have to bolt on the extension part after the clutch casing is back on! that way the arm clears the frame. its a little bit tricky but i used 8mm hex bolts instead of alan head cap bolts like KJ used and it works beautiful....

cheers KJ......
