Has anybody talked to SMF Chris lately? I was hanging with him last weekend down in ATL. Drinking, chatting, watching vids and ****....just bullshitting as usual. Start talking about SMF cycles and he said business is on the up and up. Everything is sounding really good, then he drops the bomb and says something about ending the contingency program he started with Craft and Barracuda. I asked why and tried to figure out what was going on and he just said it wasn't working out as planned. He sounded pissed and didn't want to go into it much. Surfing the web a little to figure out whats going on I come across these links,

.....Contingency Program Over.....what's the deal? The pages are now empty and it looks like the programs have been removed. Tried calling him tonight to see wtf is up but he's not answering. I wish I knew what the hell was going on.......anyone know anything???

 

 

 

i think he is restructuring it, but am not sure....he's prolly busy getting ready for indy as well

 

dude every year indy ***** alot of things up. i have to hear about it all week every year the week before the show.

wait till after the indy show and im guessing it will be figured out... if indy is the case like teach said.

but if not.. who knows..

 

You know what.... chris went out of his way to offer up contingency and help stunters.... only to get slapped in the face by event promoters and riders who want to abuse it and take his money.

I got part of the story hearsay... so I don't know the truth outta chris mouth... but we were planning on discussing the xdl contingency program at indy.. So it looks like I have some work to do

yeah, I don't know.......Thomas, you might have your work cut out for you. Chris and I are pretty good friends; hell, he even threw me an exhaust for switzerland, but he still wouldn't go into detail about what was going on. I got pretty drunk and was pushing to find out what was up and he just got really pissed off and would say anything.

I'm gonna be really ******* pissed if he pulls these contingency programs because some deuch bag rider fucked him over.

contingency is when you BUY a product, you use the product in a race/contest, you put the stickers on the side of your bike wherever the contingency program requires, and then when you podium you get money.

its pretty simple and smf is pretty much the ONLY company to be offering contingency available to ANYONE who wears his helmet. all you have to do is BUY one, PUT the stickers on, PODIUM, and then COLLECT your money.

if you fail to do that, then you fail the contingency program, period.

if i remember correctly, chris and i were talking about some semi shady **** that was going on at Stuntwars and i remember telling him to wait and see how it played out bc you gotta give everyone the opportunity to do the right thing....looks like it played out and someone didnt do the right thing and tried to take advantage of the program (which, in essence, is simply taking advantage of US, the riders)....look where that has got us now....no contingency from SMF.

i will fill him with beers in indy and do my best with thomas to talk him into at least having the program for the XDL National Championship Series.

well to my knowledge since i only build the websites.. and when chris wrote the contingency originally i myself thought it was pretty clear and concise i guess as the old sayin goes one bad apple ratt ***** the entire thing.. i am sure when and if he introduces a new contingency it will be even more strict and there will be so many requirements just to combat the grubbs that get sneaky and do stupid ****..

Wasnt there also some sort of payout if you were in a mag with a helmet on or on the cover or something like that too?? I thought it was a sweet idea and expected more companies to follow.
