To JB Weld or Not to JB Weld.......
Re: To JB Weld or Not to JB Weld.......
It's pretty tough, to get the welder in some of those crevices, hence the enormous patch. I couldn't get the whole thing welded, so I'm finishing it off with JB.
No time for sand-blasting, I'm going to use some gritty sand-paper.
What's funny is it flips down the freeway, cracks the engine, and not one rear-set broken. Go figure.

Nice try with the aluminum. My advice..
Grind down the old welds and JB WELD.. or.. try to reweld. those welds dont look half bad.. too bad he missed the crack
either way your gonna need to grind down the first cpl of layers for the jb weld or a propper weld.. so dont forget the grinding/sanding !

yeah that weld is beautiful.....and he did the exact right thing, you would have to weld that area especially at a motor mount...JB weld alone wouldnt touch it. You did it right weld & re-enforce as much as you can and hit the leftover cracks with sand paper and jb weld, perfect brother

I just bought some. Let's see how it works.

By all appearances this stuff SEEMS to be completely awesome. It's like play doe, just put it on with your fingers, completely dries in a few hours, and acts like metal.
We'll see if it holds.
