chain length

chain length

I'm changing the gearing on my 2000 R6 -1/+12 how do I determine what chain length I need?

Just use the three finger rule or you can use a measuring tape which is more acurate.

first know your stock length then take the diff in the new sprocket and old so if you going up 12 and down 1 then your changin by 13 divide that by 2 and add 1 thats how many links you need to add so add seven or eight links

or put the sprockets on, run the chain through em, and see where you need to pop out a rivet....assuming you just bought a 130 link and have a chain tool.....:YEAH

Hey I have the same problem and someone around here told me that I need 130 links if I go -1+10 on my stock F4i that has 16/46/108.
If I do the math your way I come out with 115 links, so?

im -1 +10 on my f4 and took 8 links out of a 130...so thats 122....idk what stock was...
