+1, no coding on the key in the US, and I've never seen coded keys on 1krr's or 600rr's unless it's on the newest models? My friends 06 had a key made locally that had no chip..

Now f4i's do have a resistor in the ignition, to send I think 7v down the pink wire.. But it doesn't matter what key or what setup you use, as long as the right voltage goes back to the ecu

Is that why you hang around in the United Kingdom section alot? So you can go and talk like us to confuse the **** out of ya mates?

Yeah even the 01 f4i here has HISS (honda security) and the keys have chips inside, so wont start unless you have the right key for the ECU. Just means now when a bike thief wants your bike, he will come and beat the **** out of you for the key first

beardo my man ... I am switching from my carbed F4 to injection so, normally, on european market for the F4i you have this HISS thing (honda intelligent security system or so) which means that if you change your ECU you also have to change the ignition barrely and they key (which is coded and paired with the ECU)

as I am a cheap bastard I would like to buy an american ECU (not to buy the whole package), but I wanted to check with you guys if you think that it will work with my current (F4 carbed) ignition keys
