handbrake setup

i know there have been a **** loads of threads on this but i cant get the ****** setup right.

took off my controls and put on the 16x18, but i can't set it up to the point where i can just clutch up a ss(for example) and catch it with the hb.

...i thought i just needed to spread the two levers apart, but the gb line doesn't let me. do i need a aftermarket perch/lever...or what do i do?

here is a pic:

the first link you posted is the old style raptor, those break easy. Get the second one.

And except for the crappy stock clutch, your setup looks fine. I prefer mounting the hb inboard of the clutch but the way you have it should work fine. Whats the problem, do you get your fingers stuck between the levers?

Re: handbrake setup

haha

ya, thats ^^ one problem...unless i grab the clutch with the tip of my index(which makes it hard to pull in), then it get stuck behind the hb as i let it out.

btw, what did u mean by mounting it "inboard" of the clutch?

Re: handbrake setup

might be too late since you already cut the lever but like mike said it's better to have the brake mounted on the inside where your clutch is mounted now, it gives you more leverage on the brake because you would be pulling further out on the lever

switch the brake location with the clutch location

Re: handbrake setup

i remember thats how i set it up when i was gonna put it on for the first time, but for some reason it wouldn't fit.

not a 100% cause i can't remember (it was 2 weeks go)..but i THINK it was because the reservoir line hit the fork and bent shut

Re: handbrake setup

With the Brembo master its better to have it on the outside of the clutch

I mean like you have it. Although I'd move the HB closer to the clutch if you can.

And he means where it connects. The 90 degree angle piece that comes out

Re: handbrake setup

Puts your finger in the proper spot on the lever. With the Brembo on the inside you grab an akward part of the lever.

but you would have more leverage with it on the inside
