Re: Stalling on Idle

turn your idle down and learn to use the clutch.

if you're hammering the brake and losing speed you have to either pull the clutch and set it on the bar that way, or just stall it and crash.

Re: Stalling on Idle

sound like to much brake.

if your going that slow and it's behind BP, just pull in the clutch and fall back(park it) on the bar/exhaust.(done deal) but if your trying to scrape and keep going, you need to be going faster!(not a hell of alot faster, but fast enough that u can scrape and hit the RB to pull it off the bar/exhaust)

Re: Stalling on Idle

its the same thing as if riding on two wheels. if you slow down too much the bike will stall

Re: Stalling on Idle

the higher ur idle is, the stronger u'll push the brake, so stallin is logical!

turn it down, 2.5-3k learn the clutch and go back scrape it

my zx9 used to stall when beyond BP. It sounds like maybe youre braking to hard and stalling out like that .??
Oh also use that clutch ,to prevent mousetraps ,and keep the bike up . the clutch is key!
Your post sounds like bar tricks, or foot drag circles, not scrappin at speed.

Not sure if that is what the kid is askin about.

Two scrape or hit a coaster, I am always doin it in 2nd or higher. 1st gear is too slow. Pull the clutch in a huck it back ridin the brake.

If you wanna just park it on the bar, ie idle bar tricks, the above mentioned advise by neslon is good and relevant.

Ya. But I just find it easier and more stable at speed. You have more time to slow it down and float it back.

Re: Stalling on Idle

yes you can do 1st coasters but you gotta work on your BP , you dont want to do coasters at 1gear cuz you might slam your rearbrake probably end up fall i the front so i suggest you to do 2nd to 3rd gear coasters to get more stable bp then pull the clutch down and use your rear brake thats what i do.

+1 on the whole idle thing, i'm on a 929 and can't turn it higher than 2,5k or it jumps all over the place but i learnd it that way and if your smooth on the brake it doesnt stall at all

More and more people goin straight to the lot and never messin on the highway.

I usually gently clutch up second, and kinda do a power wheelie to the balance point, that way I pick up the necessary speed. Pull the clutch in, let off the throttle and ride the brake until you feel a little tap.

Nah, in one of your previous posts you said you were afraid of the speed and only wanted to use 1st gear. Like you didn't wanna hit highway or street speeds at all.

More people are bypassing the street and goin straight to the lot, thats what I was getting at. Never getting out of first gear.

Not tryin to be pointing any fingers.
