Speedometers
Speedometers
hey just been searchin around the forums and it seems alot of people rig digital pedal bike speedo's to their bikes just wondering if i would pass inspection to register my bike with one of those.
Re: Speedometers
cateye (sp?) makes good bike ones ...but they're about 40 and up I think.... Trail tech makes them for all kinds of motorcycles....for like 60...and you'd have more functions... trailtech gives you clock and timers and odometer and trip and reminders at certain mileages etc....
where as with a bike one you'll be paying for some features that you'll never use (like cadence)
Cheapest of all ...Walmart...20 bucks or so.... but you need to be careful getting it wet (in rain or washings etc)
basically i think they'll all work ...and you'll get what you pay for
I had a cheap one (walmart ) last 2 years on a bicycle I have no regards for ....I have a cateye on my good trek... still working 5 years and counting.... and I have a trailtech on my quad....still working 2 years later(and been through adverse conditions)
