299 isnt fast enough for you ? This will slow you down to about 270 although your spedo will still read 299 but you will get there faster though so im sure we will be reading about you in the paper sometime. Enjoy.

that was a 00-03 thing, they changed the tranny since then.... really are silky, but they get crunchy later in life.... but you wont have the slipping outta gear problem or loosing it altogether anymore, just crunching sound shifting into 1st... and downshifting past 3rd.

yeah, i am pretty solid on the throttle now..... everyone thought i had been rockin idle, simply because i dont pump the throttle... i hold it firm at a certain imput.

this was when i was first learning 2 months ago.. throttle held in 1 position, and only using the brakes to adjust height...

so now that i am on idle most of the time, i give it small imput here and there when i hear and feel the bike stalling. i am also getting used to not using the rear brake at all on idle, and just balancing the bike up there.....

i am going to work on coasters first, this weekend i just attempted to twist it on a circ or two... just playing around, but i wanna have coasters happning first. simply because i wanna get used to having no imput on the bike as far as throttling. i just wanna learn to balance it, and just rely on the back break to keep it from going back too far.

My thoughts exactly. I Know it will Come up, i Just doent want to try to hard. and i dont want to bring it up at 60 and end up over 80..
I Rather f***k w/ the gears and try to do like 40 - 60 !!!

And The tranny is Smoother than a babies A$$..
But i feel you on the down shift to first..
Sometimes when I Tap it into gear( 1st from neutral)
if its not warmed up properly it does clunk pretty hard.
Also it will stall if you have the kickstand down..
(This happend like 5 times and i got so pissd till i found out that the kickstand is a Safety precaution and that why it stalls in first)

Using both at the same time is a bad idea, seems like a good way to eat through pads. I used to think it was one or the other, like you should either be on the gas or on the brake. Now its seems better the be on niether. The more time you can spend in the float zone between the two the better off you are. Using both at the same time is just the oppsite of what you should be trying to do. Coasters are a good way to learn that.

yeah... that was 2 months ago... i changed my pad'z, and my disc's. (they were really purple)

now i just kick it in that "float zone" now, using neither. i just got to that zone on sitdowns on sunday, and when i was there... i was curious, and i pulled in the clutch... worked great.

i am way more comfy on my sitdowns for some reason, and i dont hang on so hard. i seem to have a problem on my standups, it is getting better, but i have a death grip on my bars, and i am so scared to let them go. i will let go of the handle bars no problem in a sitdown.

I have an 06 with -2+4 and love it for everything!!! slow, fast, beatin down the popo's, stoppies, it's the bike that does everything well and nothing fantastic....and I stunt it! it's not the bike you ride that makes you a stunter or a squid, it's how you ride that bike that makes that call...just my though.

What kills your clutch is SLIPPING it not DROPPING it. You just have to give it a little more gas with stock but it comes up the same. When you slip the clutch it heats up the friction plates which glazes them and wears them down. Dropping the clutch is hard on the basket, which are tough so really its not a big deal. So as long as you drop it like you mean it, then your fine. Its when you pu$$yfoot around that you do the damage.
