keeping rear pegs in place...
Re: keeping rear pegs in place...
Ah, I was about to post asking a similar question!
Having a dangerous & repetitive problem with one of the rear pegs folding up somewhere along the way while I'm switching around and not being there when I need it to be, and also spooking me when I'm standing on it and the bike is so vertical that I can feel the peg start to fold back under my weight- and that would be a berry berry bad thing to happen!
Definitely don't want to lock it into place so well that it will break off on impact, etc... but I am trying to find a lil trick to keep it down that will break away & fold if need be if dropped, etc.

Re: keeping rear pegs in place...
ya, move the foot in closer i guess.
i never stand straight up and down on the bike anyways. when you bring your weight that far upwards and closer to the bike you raise your balance point and require the bike to be higher in the air, which would add to the problem. if you lean backwards you can keep the front wheel lower due to the offset of rear-weight created by your body. you also have MUCH more control and side to side stability if you are further from the bike due to leverage.....
never had the problem, even with combos jumping from pegs to SS, SS to RL and all around....peg no foldy for me

i dont think it was too bad, but at that point with that bend in my knee it was hurtin like ****. you can see my body position slightly changed, more in my upper body, but that helped from the peg folding in.
and it also helped with control too. the latest picture is at 13mph, with about 200ft of room... the old picture was about 34mph, with 1.5miles of room.

Re: keeping rear pegs in place...
if your knee hurts it's probably because it is so bent. lock your knee out so you don't have a bunch of weight pulling on the tendons and muscles. with that, also lock your arms out so you won't be in a continious pull up causing your arms to wear out. that's the key to longer wheelies and less fatigue. it also puts you further back on the bike.

^ +1 You look like your crouching a little too much.
Lean back, relax and straighten your arms and legs out a bit. Ya wanna be sort of hangin off the back of the bike.
Like this... not a great pic but ya get the idea....
