I used to have my own shop so I got to try a few sets of pads. I prefer Honda pads because there is no guessing. They work the same hot as they do cold and they last. I tried the sbs hh,carbon and some other compound that they offer. They all made ALOT of noise especially the EBC. They ALL work but the carbon and the hh would have you blowing through the first stop sign (if you rode on the street). Once they were warm-hot, you could grab a fist-full and swear you forks were gonna snap. I just think the Honda pads are very consistant and I,personally, like that about them.

If your bike is streetworthy, go down the highway or long straight and lightly drag your brakes for 5 seconds with 20 second intervals. Do this for a couple miles until you get a consistent feel before taking it to the grip. Some may have a better way, but this has always worked well for me.
