Re: 04 Gsxr Stunt Bike

Mostly street spots... non of them are secure... we have a few that you can almost always count on not getting busted at but the ones most people hit during bike night are really hot... maybe an hour.. maybe 5 mins.. but you are getting run off... we mainly just break it out on the streets though. We had a pretty nice spot by the bud warehouse.. but a guy i went to school with ( who only had 500miles on his new gixxer1000) decided it would be fun to drag race and then found out the hard way it might be a 1/4 mile but not with the stopping dis. haven't been back since his death but I know the cops are hot about it now... We need some good spots around here... but as I say most of the guys around b'ham ride fast wheelies... Me and a few others have been trying to slow it down and show them how most people stunt. @BP... But yeah hit me up man.. we should get out some time.. I could use the motivation...

Re: 04 Gsxr Stunt Bike

Dude sounds like you need to come to our spot... We got a couple that are secure... We don't hit the street @ all, not in a long while anyways. I could definitely help you with the slows. We ride every weekend. Are any of you guys rockn HB's?

Re: 04 Gsxr Stunt Bike

on my f4i i rock 14 up in the rear (60 tooth) and i down up front (15 tooth) but i dont ride the streets anymore. i dont think this setup will work very well if you still plan using your bike as transportation. i forgot who asked but i believe 1 down up front is = to +2 1/2 teeth

Re: 04 Gsxr Stunt Bike

Yeah bro I really need to load up and come up there for a day and get a lil motivation... as soon as theses sprockets are in I'm on my way... No noone hear has a HB.. I have looked into it and I think I might be going dual caliper but not sure yet.. It is very nice but cost so much more... in fact there are only a few peeps here with cages or bars and noone uses them... I have everything for the bar but have decided not to put it on yet.. well not until I get better at the BP. then I will put it on.. I have extra tail sections..lol

Moto-heaven??? Local place??
I have pulled off a few coasters... couple of other guys have 12ed... not 12'n..lol.. I am trying to work on slowing it down at BP just hard unless I am sitting down I guess I need a HB. Like I said most everybody fown here rides fast stuff.. interstate wheelies at BP and cuttting traffic.. 5 mile wheelies... stuff I am trying to get out of.. rather take it to the lot...

I am trying to slow it down a lot and can already find bp. Just want to be able to rock out the slow stuff. My pipe will be cut down soon, and I don't plan on running a bar yet I have a lot of tail sections I can scrape away. I am thinking about a 60 tooth rear and stock front... rear is stock at 45... let me know what everyone thinks..

You say your trying to slow it down A LOT. Gears isn't gonna make that happen for you. Learn to slow em down on the stock gears. If you can find BP like you say why cant you slow em down already?

Gears do help but not when your trying to learn, they only make it worse.

Re: 04 Gsxr Stunt Bike

Look dude is right gears aren't going to slow you down... What they are going to do is make the bike chug harder, it's going to make it clutch up with a quarter of the throttle, and it's going to make the throttle feel way more sensitive... It's also going to give you tons of engine braking... Definitely learn to use engine braking before investing in a HB.
Try clutchn it up to the BP with your left foot draggn. It'll help you balance while you're idling around... so you can concentrate on the brake and any throttle correction inputs, also help you to learn how to work the clutch for 12's, coasters and stalls. Remember though all this can be accomplished with stock gearing...
Phil isn't local here's his # he help's 256NORTH out 1-877-416-0969... Good luck...

I never hit even 1 mile long wheelies (noob) but, I pop it up here and there. Do I really need an oil pick-up for shorties?

Re: 04 Gsxr Stunt Bike

Yeah I know I am needing gears or should say thats where I think I am going to no.. I can't clutch up from a dead stop.. just from a roll at about 2000 rpm.. then I can bring it back to BP and like I said try to slow it down... brake control is still really really a lil hard for me... but the throttle control is no problem thats mainly why I am wanting the gear... I think it will make it easier with the extra torque and getting it up to BP quicker.. I dunno... I will try it and see I have been doing wheelies for a long long time and I am pretty skilled just can't pull them up from a dead like I want to and it's harder to keep at BP or to me it seems like it is with less torque... I dunno I know this is the route I am headed to with this bike so I might as well gear it since I am being forced to get a chain and sprocket anyways... then I will be prepared for all the rest of the stunts I am working up to.. I know most of you can prolly clutch a stock 6er up from dead but like I said not to that level yet.. think this will help me out some.. give me the torque I am looking for

Re: 04 Gsxr Stunt Bike

you can slow them down on stock gearing to about 8-10mph somewhere in that range.. then go with some gearing , if not its just going to make it that much harder for you to learn how to slow it down with gearing. Plus stock gearing is more forgiving if you arent smooth on the throttle yet. Im + 5 -2 and its good enough for slow stuff and can still ride highway a bit.

Re: 04 Gsxr Stunt Bike

You definitely need to get where you can clutch from a stop, and feel confident with the brake. That gear is going to get you up for sure, but if your under the BP you're going to run out of gear in a hurry... Big gear equals big rpm's. No more 70 mph 1st gear wheelies to redline for sure.

i rode for a long while before i got a pick up tube, about 15000 miles of hard riding, but its always a good idea cause you never know when you will be good enough to roll them long and high, i was riding with aguy with about 8000 miles on his bike when i heard a rod knocking when he sat down a wheelie, so you never know, 70 bucks sounds better then a 1000 to me any day
