Which supermoto besides crf450?
Hi,
I sold my xr600 supermoto, so right now I'm looking for a supermoto to stunt with... In almost every stunt vid about supermoto I see, the're stunting a crf450. I've heard alot of bad comment on this bike, like the engine breaks down because of too less oil in the engine...
What should be the best supermoto? (for stunting only and some street use, no racing!)
And I really don't want a bike that needs maintenance every 500km!
Please help me out guys, I really don't know what to do...
Sorry for my English, but I'm located in Belgium...
Cheers,
Jerre

Re: Which supermoto besides crf450?
The early CRF models have valve issues. Especially the 250's. But if you take it easy, no bangers, than I'm sure it won't matter.
You just need to keep them within spec. The motor is ment to be rebuildable, more so than street bikes. The periodic maintainance is more intense. Nothing will beat the XR600 in the maintainance department though.
Try Yamaha or maybe Suzuki DRZ. The DRZ is slower, but that doesnt matter if you're into stunting.

Every enduro i ride, i always see loads of 525's cooking in traffic jams at the tight sections.
Even with the fan kit, they're known for overheating. Continuous slow stunting will cook 'em. Go for a smaller model if you're buying it for slow stuff. If you're gonna be doing any speed, then by all means, get the big 'un.

I wanna get an easily street legal one...but everyone says the drz 400 is hella slow... I need to ride one... because im really not into all that speed... the husky 510s are very nice.. so I might just get one of them...
obviously the crf 450 is going to be the most dependable enginewise, but they arent street legal

I've been rocking the Husky 510 and just picked up a 610 . I love the 610. It's a bit heavy but runs smooth as silk. The extra weight of the 610 makes it easier to stunt. Absolutely love the bike far better than my F4i, Endos are the bomb
These bikes are built tough, there the second highest winning bike in Baha 11 times to Hondas 15. Very easy to work on do the valve adjustment in about 10 minutes. 2 years of motard racing and no mechanical failure. I've owned every brand and these are by far the nicest.
