MXD Products are GAAAAAAAAARBAGE! I bought a track cage for my 1000 and never laid it down, the only thing I did was when I first got it I set it down on the left side to see the clearance. After maybe two week the right bolt broke off in my engine mount, not too big of a deal an easy fix of tapping out a bolt in your engine! Then a month or two later the left side broke where the weld is at the frame/engine bolt. So I contacted him about a refund. To me if a product you make brakes without ever hitting the ground I can only imagine what will happen if it hits the ground. Jeff tells me to take it off and send it back. It's around this time that his awesome customer service skills come into play :jerkoff. To cut it short after a couple months of trying to contact via phone and email, he tells me I LAID it down and that he won't give me a refund the best he can do is send me another garbage track cage. I was PISTED for a couple reason, first because when I orginally ordered it he told me that the track cages could hold up to 12-20 12 drops depending on the severity, but could unthinkable brake the first time, which is reasonable. Second because I felt like I was being d**ked around by his customer service skills and third because HE was telling me what I did to the cage. So I was like F**K this cage and told him I didn't even want his product on my bike and that I would just eat that 145 dollars plus shipping back to him. But he said that he would feel better if he just shipped it to me and was done with it. I agreed because I figured I could ebay the garbage for a buy it now price of 50$ or something. And that's when he reinforced his awesome customer service skills by never sending me the cage or returning any of me emails. So in my opinion Jeff is D**K and his cages are GARBAGE. I'm sure plenty of you have his cages and love them and they hold up fine, whick is awesome that's what they're supposed to do. It's just that he treated me like someone who was beneath him and didn't deserve his time or effort and anybody who does that F**K them. Thanks for reading my ravings.

never fell and broke just sounds like something broke and you want to blame the person who sold it. i would love to see the damage from never droping it

 

MXD's are bulletproof...

and your one side of the story doesnt make sense...all that damage when the bike never dropped....

 

If an engine mount bolt broke off without even dropping the bike, thats a clear indication you severly overtightened it. How many ft/lbs of torque did you do?

There are a lot of people who think they know how to work on bikes or anything with a motor, but they seem to forget that they have classes to do that kind of work for a reason.

To the simpleness of torqueing down a nut or bolt can make a huge difference.

Maybe Jeff will come on here and post his side of the story.... hmmmm....

 

I used to see losers on gixxer.com breaking motor mount bolts from installing their shiney new frame sliders all the time.

A cage is a cage some guys dont use thier cages as much as others that drop their bike constantly and hard. but we all do drop our bikes no question about it. From a business perspective if u called me and told me your story i would have doubts in my mind as well. If i did what u wanted me to do just to make u happy and the next stunter and the next i would loose money. Why should he take ur word for it and replace ur stuff at his expense not knowing what u really did to that bike/cage. Then he would be expected to do it for us all. It doesnt work that way.

kinda does sound like bs, but at the same time sounds like jeff disrespected the guy, reguardless of how far fetched a story is you should still respect your customers.

 

You either installed the cage Wrong, or you snapped the motormount bolt when removing it originally.(If its rusty/corroded, it'll break easily)I'm sorry,I doubt your cage broke without hitting the ground. Your story is seriously lacking. You should come up with some better material before you come on here and badmouth MXD.

I like when people call me and ask if a cage will work if they loop it on the freeway... I tell them that the cage is probably the only thing that would be good enough to use if you loop it on the freeway....
