and on top of that, u have to worry about the white trash kids starin at her, which then agrivates me, ruins my riding.. and causes fights... so all in all, i want to be free like ***** :YEAH

Dude I was almost in the same spot a year and a half ago. My girl loved the fact that I had a bike at first. Then she slowly tried to phase me out of going riding with the group saturday nights. And pretty much riding in general. Then a friend of hers died on his bike and her grandmother died. She wanted me to sell both of my streetbikes and basically do nothing that could have the potential to harm me. I talked with her and decided that they would sit for a while (hoping things would blow over but they didn't).

Then it was my friends, she didnt approve of them and she didnt want me to hang out with them. Then she didn't want me to go out without her, for fear that I may be trying to meet someone else.

Eventually she was talking and she wanted me to sell my bikes to buy her some absurd 15 thousand dollar diamond ring.

Needless to say, I bought a 50 and kept the street bikes and well let's just say that I chose for her to no longer be a part of my life.

Now In my case I don't have a child to weigh in, which makes the decision even harder. Do realize no matter how long you give it to cool off her position will not change.

All in all I took a full year off from riding. I was extremely busy finishing my degree and working full time so it wasn't that bad. When I started riding again the issue resurfaced and I wasn't hearing it.

I have been riding nag free again for about 8 months and it is great. There are plenty more women out there that will accept you for who you are and what you enjoy doing.

bro i am going through this right now....my girl had our kid and now she wants me to stop riding completely.....which is hard cause i have already sold 4 of my dirt bikes and my 2 bmw's.....i only have the stunt bike and the race bike left....now i understand that she doesnt want me to die....but what she doesnt relise is that if i STOP riding then i will.....riding is my life and my passion.....my father raced professionally for 15 years and i have just grown up around it....i love it...and its my way out.....so i quit simply put it like this to her....that i will keep the stunting to the lots and the racing on the track....but i will not give it up....the compromise we have is shakey cause she still wants me to stop....its a daily conversation with us....and we arent even together right now....just trying to work **** out....so it im stuck with the whole give it up for my family or no....which if it came down to it i would no questions asked....my son and her are the most important things in my life....but it hasnt come to that yet....so im still fighting it....just my .02 i hope it helps....i definately dont envy your situation....good luck.

but anyways...u have alot of mixed emotions about it and well that is highly understandable...finding the medium ground is the trick...it isnt always easy, but once u get there...its a nice thing...

 

I'm so sorry that you guys have to deal with ultimatums like this. It isn't fair. I personally think, that if someone loves you, they'll respect what makes you happy. I couldn't make someone stop doing what they love. Wouldnt't them to do that to me. Best of luck to all you guys with girl issues. Tell her to call me, I'll take her out on my bike and make her change her mind..

I let my chick ride my fifty, she had a few drinks, and her friend rode it (who rides dirtbikes) and did fine, i say no lets wait till u're sober, i will teach you, no no i can do it, if she can do it i can do it. i said fine, i warned you, you're on your own!

so she gets on it, and it keeps stalling, i'm like wtf.. she was turning the throttle the wrong way!! so then i tell her how it works, she pins it in first gear, heading towards a curb, wobbles and eats ****! if that' isn't an "i told you so" to go down in history, so then i had to deal with her *****ing about her ***!

my buddy has a gf who rides, reallllly cool chick, she was doin whoolies on the fiddy lastnite, he's a lucky one!
