I'm convinced...the GSXR-1000!

Over a long discussion about why a Hayabusa would not be a good bike for me, I have come to the conclusion that I need a GSXR-1000! I am excited, I talked to the dealer last night and got the ball rolling at my bank. We will see what they say. I found a great site that shows all around the new 1K in all the colors. Check it out. I am still unsure about what to think about that exhaust.

Re: I'm convinced...the GSXR-1000!

I have ridden all kinds of bikes...I just have OWNED a ninja250 before. And why buy a used 02-04 1K when I can just buy a 2005 at MSRP or below? I like the new body, lighter, faster, and it is still a liter. I don't plan on stunting it till I get comfortable with it. OOHHHHH I am excited!

Re: I'm convinced...the GSXR-1000!

Jumpin from 250 to a 05 gixer 1k isnt really a good idea,
Not to be an *** or anything, i really dont think you should even toutch a liter bike till you have some more expirience with a real sportbike.
You should prolly check out an 04-05 gixxer 600 or 750.
just my

Re: I'm convinced...the GSXR-1000!

I feel like a beginer again, not being able to ride for 3 years (because I am in the military). But it will all come back to me i'm sure. I had a moped here, and man did I tear the shi* out of that doin' wheelies and what not all over the place!

But a 1000 i think is just too much for a begginer.
a 05 gixxer 600 and 750 would be tight, but the 1000 is gangsta!! i've had lots of friends buy r1's straight off the floor without having any experience at all and none of them ever died.

Re: I'm convinced...the GSXR-1000!

True, but the moped is FUN! And you don't have to take a bike to ITS limits, you can set limits for yourself also....like you don't HAVE to pull the throttle ALL the way back, just a little way back sometimes.

I don't plan on learning the hard way, I am going to take it easy and "grow with the bike." I know what my limits are.

Re: I'm convinced...the GSXR-1000!

Yeah ill agree with everyone else that goin from a moped and a 250 as a daily driver to a liter bike is goin to get you hurt. You do realize that the 1k will EASILY pull the front wheel by just rollin on the throttle. **** my F2 pulls up the front wheel from the 1st to 2nd gear shift when accelerating fast. A 750 will be plenty of bike for you. You say you wanna go fast that 750 will make you go very fast and outrun any po po's you come incontact with if thats your thing.

You've been off a bike for 3 yrs, granted you never forget how to ride.. But befor you had a 250 this 1k is a HUGE HUGE HUUUUGGGGEEEE step.

None of us are trying to be d|cks by saying DONT GET IT. Were just tryin to keep you safe and tellin you that your definatly goin with the overkill. Great bike though... if you do decide to not listen to us, be careful.

if you'r enot gonna take it to it's limits, then why get it!? go get a 600 and keep your ***** issues to yourself... obviously if you have riden a few bikes, does not make you a expert.... from what i am seeing, u're in the military, think u'r a hardass, and want the biggest fastest bike you can think of..you'll learn

Re: I'm convinced...the GSXR-1000!

stick w/ a liter bike and put gears on it to keep the top speed down and at the same time, it'l be easier to learn to stunt.

Re: I'm convinced...the GSXR-1000!

I realize I am not an expert, and I realize that I am not a hardass because I am in the military......I would like something that I can be proud of, grow with, and learn a lot. I learned soooo much with my 250, and on buddies bikes, I learned a lot. I think I can control myself on a bike that is a little larger than I am used to.
