Re: Hand Brake?

Racers use slicks, slipper clutches, and tune their motors hardcore...is that cheating? No its just the best riders using the best equipment. If you rock nasty wheelies, you can do it with, or without a handbrake, so why not use a tool like a handbrake to add some flavor into the mix?

Re: Hand Brake?

Thanks for all of your opinions. I am going to fabricate my own handbrake cause I have most of the basics down. If any of you ever make it around Champaign Illinois (where the University of Illinois is) give me a holler and we tear it up!!!!!

Re: Hand Brake?

I don't see how it could be cheating when there aren't any rules. If it makes you a better rider, then do it. If you are still doing power wheelies and you put a ahdnbrake on your bike... well, who cares. You just wasted time, money, and energy for something you're not going to use. But maybe someday when you do need it... then it will be there. I won't have one, cause I don't need one... yet. But when the day comes that I think it will help me progress, I will have one.

Re: Hand Brake?

i wanna mount a hb just so i can rock my whuulies floating the bar like 6 inches from the ground. cuz u either need like 20+ to do that , a hb, or a long strip of rode. im only +12 cuz i still gotta be streetable.

Nothing against you T but this is the point I have been trying to make in the industry since day one but people dont see it

no offense taken. i just want to ride and have fun man, thats all. having a handbrake would make me try more things and that would be having fun. i appreciate your 2 cents though.

its so funny that people can come on a forum and talk **** to other people, but cant do it in there face. you know where i live you know where i work. and yet nothing to say to me. and i dont care who wants to or dont want to ride with me. and what do you mean by real? im the one thats out riding back and forth practiceing. if you could teach me how to be real, that would be cool, cause i guess i know nothing about real. just hide behind your keyboard, your safe there.

I'm confused on this one too cbo. U said "u haven't seen him do much longer than a half a block, and thats your point. This is where the sport is heading?"

What do you mean? Your point is that the sport is heading towards half block wheelies and that is why your against handbrakes? Just trying to figure out what you ment in that post?

First off, nice to see i'm not the only person up at 4:30am on a wed night!

I think people are just anxious to learn new tricks. They want to learn as fast as they can with the least amount of effort and wear and tear on their bodies and bikes. I don't blame anyone for that. I agree that it takes alot more skill to rock as spreader for 6miles with no hb than having a hand brake. And when I see, you for instance, rockin stuff in street session and you don't have a hand brake i do say to myself "man thats pimp." But I also see merk doing mad combos in siu3 with a hand brake and thats pimp too. I just think that people should ride how they want. As long as there out there doing it its cool. If you wanna be a pimp rock the stuff with no handbrake, i'll give you extra props for that, but wether people use a handbrake or not i'm just glad to see people out riding. I also think that just cause you put a handbrake on when you have "some" rear control doesn't mean you are a squid or anything else. I don't care what order you learn rear brake in but if you want to have everything on lock sooner or later your gonna have to learn it, so who cares if you have a handbrake first or not.

Thats my thoughts anyways... but who the fu-ck am i? Jon

all of this is very true. its all about preference, i cant do highchairs or spreader yet and my throtle control isnt all that great but i have alot or rear break control, and can do some slow idle stuff. i dont know if i will ever be ready to do a highchair, that trick scares me. but does that mean i cant try a no throtle handed seatstander? i give props to all the guys that can do it with or without the handbrakes. but you got to give props to the guys that are just trying.
