any advantage to using race tires?
any advantage to using race tires?
I need a new rear tire, and was thinking of getting one of those super sticky race tires...
Anybody have experience with them for stunting?
I was thinking they might help me with circles, my old tire keeps letting lose on me.....

better grip inthe warm, worse grip in the cold. i don tlike them for burnouts, although i swear by pirelli race compound tires for endos.....just gotta get 'em and keep 'em warm!

cold?
you live in TX, we live in New England!!!
and your "cold" riding weather! lol Re: any advantage to using race tires?
Definatly recomend them on the front for endo's. Not on the back though you cant do burn outs good on them and they have higher center than regular tires and make slow stuff really unstable.

how old was yours, mine was like 2 weeks old. so it might have something to do with sitting around, im not sure.

Front yes, back not really. ( I use them from time to time on the back though). Best combination I've ever ran is Dunlop 208 GP Race front, and a Bridgestone BT-020 on the rear.

The problem with race tires is that they cool down really quick you gotta keep them going or they'll start to wear out
A cold tire will wear quicker than a warm one
Street compounds should be just as good and last a bit longer
