any advantage to using race tires?

I need a new rear tire, and was thinking of getting one of those super sticky race tires...

Anybody have experience with them for stunting?

I was thinking they might help me with circles, my old tire keeps letting lose on me.....

ive got a pirelli race take off on my rear right now and your right it is super sticky. even where its cold tho it holds up fine. when it gets wet it doesnt want to hold as much, but its still 10x better than my old stock tire. :YEAH

I had a pirelli dragon supercorsa rear take-off and it wore out very fast because of the soft compound....But it was good while it lasted.

Definatly recomend them on the front for endo's. Not on the back though you cant do burn outs good on them and they have higher center than regular tires and make slow stuff really unstable.

WHAT are you talking about. i had my stock tire on there for roughly 2K miles before all tread was gone. ive had the pirelli for about 3,500 now and ive still got a mm or 2 of tread left. thats doin wheelies and a burnout or 2 also.

how old was yours, mine was like 2 weeks old. so it might have something to do with sitting around, im not sure.

they work great on the front for stoppies but I wouldn't suggest using them on the back they're ok for wheelies but suck for burnouts

Front yes, back not really. ( I use them from time to time on the back though). Best combination I've ever ran is Dunlop 208 GP Race front, and a Bridgestone BT-020 on the rear.

I had that same tire and my wheelies were going all over the place
The problem with race tires is that they cool down really quick you gotta keep them going or they'll start to wear out
A cold tire will wear quicker than a warm one
Street compounds should be just as good and last a bit longer

I like the pirellis up front.. Dont mind having em on the back either as long as its not a blue and it isnt hammered on one side.
