Is it ok to use a clip style master link or should i always use a pressed style?

clip style are fine, just make sure the clip is in good cond., is put on correctly and then push the plate part of the link that the clip holes on up against the clip, it will help to keep the clip tight and hold it on. Check after you ride around to make sure the clip is still on. we've been using them for the last few years with no problems except the occasionally lost clip that was probably put on wrong.

use the pressed type i have had the clip fall off my bike and the chain fall off at around 60 miles an hour and it was very scary. at least with the pressed type you put it on and have no worries for checking it so you can be more secure and just ride.................

You can use the clip style. Just make sure you put the clip in the right direction. The closed side of the clip goes first in the direction of travel of the chain.
