Need some rear suspension help
SO last weekend I finally got my beast together. I am running a HUGE rear shock (I think its a coilover from a car. well maybe not...), and lots of travel. I bought an extended swingarm from Classic Honda for like 170 bucks. MY problem is this: When I sit on the bike, my heavy *** compresses the swingarm enough to where the chain is tight, but if I'm off the rear end, or the featherlight neighbor kids are riding it, the chain droops pretty significantly, drags, grinds and makes all kind of nasty noises. In fact, the inside of the flywheel cover is all chewed up. There is a slider on the top of the swingarm however. Is there a roller or something available to alleviate this problem? Where would I mount it? Any creative suggestions? Check out the pic:
Ok, for some reason, I"m getting an upload error.

Go to www.sik50s.com. Look up thier phone number. Call them. They sell a chain roller. I couldn't find it as an individual item but they have it.
It will cure your problems. :YEAH

Re: Need some rear suspension help
you need to change the shock
I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. I did change the shock to a longer travel one, and as I mentioned previously, I have a longer swingarm.
bikfrk: I have a roller coming, so I'll se what that does.
Thanks all for your help
Re: Need some rear suspension help
well a roller should help some
but you have to much travel i know that sounds silly but
its true and if the shock sags that much with you on it its waisted anyway
no shock should travel that far just by sitting on it
read up on setting a suspension up on an mx bike it will be easier than me trying to explain in my weirdo way

Re: Need some rear suspension help
I weigh alot!!!!!!!!
More seriously, the shock is adjustable, it is possible I have it set for too much sag, haven't really played around with it, never thought I would have to, but I'll take a look.
