Re: MR50 elsinore forks Clamps??

Yeah I used the companies in the write up for the parts.
The holes on my clamp for the stock forks are about an inch in front of the holes on the mr50 forks.
If I were to make a top clamp to match up with the lower clamp wont it shorten the wheelbase a little bit? When the forks are fully compressed will the wheel be closer to the head than the stock forks? I know its only an inch, but when Im pinned in third gear the last thing I want is a shorter wheelbase making it even twitchier. (sp)? I think Ill have a lower tripple clamp made to match up with my top tripple. This way I can use the big bar setup I already have. I will just skip the milling on the lower forks where the axle goes for now, and see where the wheel ends up as far as being centered. Might just have to make a wheel spacer to center it and maybe a longer axle. Let me know what you all think.

sounds like a pain in the ***. its not very easy to make a lower clamp. but do what u want. the MR50 lower bolts right on the XR. in all actuallity, u are adding wheelbase because the forks are 3" longer.

Re: MR50 elsinore forks Clamps??

Found a set of forks/clamps the whole nine this morning. Had to wait on them for today though I was picking up another part. I will probably have to wait a bit now as I just noticed while re-reading these posts that Fab5 mentioned he is now running an IShock. He mentioned it was all kicked out on the stocker and I don't have enough $$ to go for an aftermarket shock right at the moment. I want to make it an even change in the ride height & position. Probably should wait till I am a little more comfortable with it and handling it well as is anyway.. I will work on it see what happens!
