Weird knocking sound
Weird knocking sound
I know that a knocking sound is trouble, but how about one that went away.
Yesterday I heard a crazy tapping sound from my ****. It got quicker as I revved it up, but went away after like a minute.
Are there any test I can do to see if everything is copacetic?

Re: Weird knocking sound
gonna need A lilttle more info than that
like had it been sitting for a few days and took a second for the oil to get through the motor again or was it a bottom end noise
depends on where the noise originated

Actually, it was after a few hours of constant one handed circle wheelies/one handed circle wheelie attempts. From your reply, I'm guessing it was the oil getting through the motor again. It kind of sounded as if it were coming from the cylinder head area.
A few question..
How bad is this for the motor?
Should i just put more oil in?
How will i know where the line of too much/not enough oil is?
Someone should make a modified dipstick somehow, and give me one for free for coming up with the idea.
Again, thanks for the reply.
Re: Weird knocking sound
the oil pump is on the right hand side in the front of the motor
two cures for this if you havent already done it
one would be to use a super oil pump although it cannot pump the oil when there isnt any there it will pump more when it is there giving you more time b4 it runs dry
two you might try some bg oil additive this is the only one i know is safe for clutches too, ive seen this work in a lawn mower wide open for 30 minutes and no oil in the motor ,i had the drain plug in my hand it was no trick
you just add it to your oil
sounds like the bearing in the head is going to me if you ran it that long
without pumping any oil pull the cam cover off and look at it the cam will go first then the wrist pin then the crank
i think the idea of making a pickup tube for the oil pump is better
do not overfill your oil it will just puke it out the vent on to your back tire and walla instant crashola
