rear brake light w/ microswitch on lever?

i'm gonna rewind my stator w/in a few weeks time and i figured i might as well try to hook up a microswitch on the lever and get a brake light. it shouldn't be too hard but i don't know about all those older monkey and gorilla parts, i thought maybe one of those levers/switches should work but i don't know. has anyone done this? would it drain too much juice from the headlight? if it's gonna be too much of a pain i'll just forget it but i though it'd be cool to have one on the streets. and has anyone found a good waterproof switch to use for the headlight? i wanna have be able to turn it off.
