50 dies after it's warm

Alright, this is fuked. I've had an 88 kit in for 4 months. Everything was perfect and ran fine. All of a sudden after a big mud and water run it dies after 5-10 minutes of running. I've borrowed and swaped all of the following off of my g/f 50 and nothing worked.
-stock coil
-plug
-carb
-tank
and even pulled my head off checking for anything and reset my valve clearance. After it shuts off, I can only get it to run with the choke on full and it dies when I shut it off.

The fuked thing is that my roommate bought a different 88 kit a few weeks after me and his just started doing the same thing an hour ago. Is there something in the bottom end electrical that gets burned out early because of the added power or harder use? Help me out guys, this blows!

most of the OG's on here and fiddylife.com all run 88 bbk's and have no issues ...
88 kits are rock solid as long as installed an maintained correctly, at least the TB kits are ... anyways I would see if Fab5Fiddy has any ideas he's the bbk king ....

sounds like you might have blown up the top end (rings & piston and maybe cylinder) by sucking in dirt or water. or you MIGHT have warped the cylinder on the thin 88 jug hitting water when the engine was super hot(never seen that before ona fiddy though)

not too sure in your case but i know that when i rode two strokes and they only ran till they got hot, they needed new rings and they were good to go.

BTW, i have beat my 88 kit till i was afraid i hurt it several times. and it's still going strong to this day w/ no other issues than having to get the jetting right when i built it. it spends most of it's life rapped out on one wheel, and still has a stock oil pump

Re: 50 dies after it's warm

hmmm 5-10 minutes then dies
how do you get it to run again?
im guessing here so dont flame me, not really any info to go on
two things come to mind, crap in the float bowl have the float level off and after a while of running rich your soaking the plug, but you changed the carb.
secondly water and mud have nothing to do with it, you probably leave your gas on all the time open your oil fill hole and smell your oil does it smell like fuel? this also will soak your plug and the bike will die.this especially happens once the oil is warmed up and loses its viscosity and becomes thin due to the gas in it.
it doesnt sound electrical because when a cdi ignition is dead its dead it doesnt run for a few minutes and die. a points coil will do that not a cdi coil.
all i got hope that helps
