Bike dies when doing wheelies

I got a Thumpstar 107cc pitbike and whenever I do a wheelie past 11 o'clock the bike will just shut off. When it comes down fuel comes out of the drain tube. What's the deal!!! I know that I have to mess with the carbs cuz the bike kinda boggs down sometimes when I punch the gas from idle. Anyone have any suggestions? I've read the carb thread, but I dont know why the bike dies when I wheelie for a while.

(Here's a link to the bike i got: http://www.pocketriders.com/thumpstar/1168)

Re: Bike dies when doing wheelies

I didn't buy it from that website. I got it at a local shop for $1,500. I bought it cuz it had all the upgrades that I would've eventually bought if I had bought a honda 50. I was told that I would end up spending tons of money putting all that stuff on the Honda. Its a pretty good bike, but I have never ridden any other fiddys so I can't really compare it to anything.

Re: Bike dies when doing wheelies

how long are you wheelying for? when mines past 12 you have to keep the throttle open to keep it running, if you let off too long it will die. But i still can ride at BP till i mess up, but i think threy alll die at 12 or more unless you keep it pinned, after all your turning the carb on it's side.

you'll need to be looking at the carb. for answers but as far as anything technical on that model , i have no direct experience working on any other brand 50's x'cept honda and jinchengs

I'm wheeling for about 50 feet or so. It'll keep going if I have the throttle open at balance point, but it'll bog down sometimes if I have past bp. And when I do wheelie at bp for a bit, gas just starts comin out of the drain tube.

the carb is slightly upsidedown.hold the bike at this position without moving and youll see.this will shut off fuel and flood the carb with whatever fuel was in the bowl.....maybe.

my knock-off never has problems running at BP, even when I hit the 12bar ( which is more at 1ish) it'll run if I stay on the throttle, its only if I try to let it idle it shuts off, see if theres anyone in your area that can help you re-adjust the carb, or check on www.FiddyLife.com
