Law question

I was just wondering what kind of **** happens when you get pulled over for doing a wheelie or a stoppie? My dad used to "stunt" bikes back in the day, which means he rode wheelies through town. He was telling me if I do get good at stunting to just do it in parking lots cause cops show no mercy on stunters anymore, and they do all they can to get us ****ed over with our liscense getting suspended and what-not. So what happens if you get caught stunting on the street? I wanna do it for the

Re: Law question

I got arrested a couple weeks ago for a "speed limit" 2nd gear stand up!

reckless driving, $600, 8 points on my driving record and a major P>I>A>!

don't do wheelies in town, cops don't like wheelies!

Re: Law question

Here's the point. 99% of cops don't like seeing wheelies, anywhere. There's always a few that think they're cool. If you play it smart(which most kids don't) on where you do your stunts, you will most likely get off a little easier if you got caught. I personally prefer not to be anywhere near a car, ie:country roads/parking lots etc... If you do get caught, it's most likely going to be a Wreckless Driving or Wreckless Endangerment(if around cars). I know the area you're from, and you could easily get into the country in 5 minutes or less, so go out there, don't do your **** infront of cars, and definately wear your gear. Good Luck

Re: Law question

Heh yeah I can get to country fast. I was talking to my dad about some of the **** he did when he was younger, and he was telling me about how when he worked at Dana Corp in Fort Wayne...A cop saw him riding a wheelie around a turn, so my dad just nailed the throttle and outran the cop down US30 and actually "won" the race, and he got off clean. That'd be badass to see, haha. Nowadays though they would send a helicopter on your *** and it's game over. Fuxxin cops

I would rather do it in parking lots than on country roads, since people HAUL *** on country roads around here. I nearly got hit going down one not stunting just riding 10 over the speed limit...

Also, if I wreck on someone's parking lot while having their consent to stunt practice on it, are they liable? I would never sue someone over anything like that, unless they did something to make me wreck, I was just wondering though.

Thanks

Re: Law question

I don't know what the laws are in your state, but in FL, unless your on private property, you can and probably will be held accountable for your actions. If you do manage to find somebody with property to allow you to practice on, good job, but they will probably want you to sign a liability waiver for using there property. Secondary, in the evnt that you do hurt yourself stunting, I don't think any judge would help you out seeing how wreckless and dangerous stunting is to them.

Re: Law question

Just remember, by stunting anywhere YOU are taking the risk, if you cant afford the possible end , dont play the game. Dont look for someone to sue just because YOU trashed your bike, all these people who sue everybody, just make things more expensive for all of us.......
