Ok, so Im looking for another bike since i wrecked mine a few months back and Ive been seeing some unbelievable deals. Question is, has anyone ever bought a bike off of ebay? Good/bad experiences? I, for one, dont trust the people, but im desperate for a bike any insight would be nice

 

I know a guy that has a mint 93 and 99 900RR, he bought both off of ebay!

 

The best, just sit back and watch for a month and learn how to filter out the potential scams.

 

Damn covert, how'd u find an animated avatar like that? I like it! My buddy got a 01 R6 on ebay for 3500, 3000 miles, very clean. If you get a bike, pay w/ a secure payment or show up in person to get the bike. But if you see a deal that is to good to be true, its prob. a scam. Just ask alot of questions.

yep....im with biker boy and ftp.....If you see something that seems kinda fishy, then chances are it's a scam. A lot of scam on ebay lately. Usually when they do the email the seller before you can bid, that seems to be a prime choice of the scammers. Also if you see anything from a different country, just close the page and find something else.

 

Well..... since i wrecked, my parents became bike haterz and refuse to let me ride... so i said id move out (which i was going to do), but now they said if i move out, theyll fire me from my job (which is working for them as a mechanic which is potentially what i want to do with my life). This is really ****ed up, i have to ride, but if i get fired i cant support myself and ill have to move out and really rough it and i wont be able to go to college cuz ill be working all the time.... "but" ive got 4 grand and my mom said if i buy a bike behind their back, she doesnt wanna know about it. :finger so is that just an invitation to buy one? i think so.... so im checkin out ebay for the right bikes and ill keep it at a friends house

but anyway, im just rambling on about my not so good life right now and trying to figure out any way to do what i LOVE to do most in my life. **** parents

oh.... and things like "2003 Yamaha R6 lmtd. edition (black with red flames) bike going for $2100 (buy it now) with free shipping, clear title, 200 miles, and blah blah" is just way to good to be true... probably a scam, and if it isnt, then i got ****ed on a good deal

What the hell are they going to fire you for? Tell em you will sue them and call the AMA they will help ya with the fight. Tell your parents this then see what they say.

my deusche bag dad said he wouldnt help support a bike... so he'd fire me... my mom sorta knows im buyin a bike and keepin it at a friends house, but she just says "dont say anymore, i dont wanna know anything," when i try to tell her. so shes bein pretty cool cuz she knows what im gunna do. :YEAH

but yea, i hate my dad... is it natural to love riding so much you'd sacrifice almost anything for it?

 

i did the same exact thing last year. bought my bike and kept it at a buddies place. parents didnt find out until ~5 months later when i told them

 

Funny, cause ive always had trouble w/ my dad as well when I was younger. We never agreed on anything. When I wanted my first bike, he said sure, like as if he was agreeing for my death wish. I dont want to know the real answer, truth hurts, punkazz dad

 

Got my '92 ZX7 off ebay - 14k miles- custom paint- muzzy- mint. lots of stuff done to this bike. Really good price.

I looked at what else the dude was selling... home entertainment stuff.. big screen tv.. etc. Emailed him.. he said he was having a baby in a month. I'm sorry but, I can see a gurl riffin bout havin a bike with a new baby (some gurls), but I can't see any gurl makin u see ur big screen tv cause of the new baby. I'm thinkin he was into someone for some $$$$.

Anyway, hear good ebay stories an bad ebay stories... use a lil common sense an carry a big stick.

ebay...be careful.i guess that is all u can do.as far as the rents,...f them.ha ha.. o yeah when i was in high shool my friends parents would'nt let him have a dirtbike so he dug a whole in the ground in the woods behind his house ,.there is a solution to everything.keep ridin .

as for my dad, he gives every answer to me straight, in the biggest, worst most *******-ish way possible.. he has nothing to do with my life lol... he doesnt even know when my birthday is, we quizzed him one day, he ended up walking away.

o well only thing left to do is do what he doesnt want me to do
