bike bogging down

i have a 98 zx9 and when accelerating it bogs down like its starved of fuel. i have the fuel set on "on" when this happens but when i change it to "reserve" the problem goes away. i just had the gas tank and all that stuff off to change the plugs, in case this could be the problem. is there a possibility of having bad fuel? i just filled it up at a place i never usually go to before and was thinkin that they could have bad fuel? and im thinkin that it runs better on reserve because its older fuel from a different place? any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.

Sure you didn't crimp a fuel hose? This would explain why it can't deliver enough fuel under load.
