This is kind of a pedestrian RICO Act... and if passed, will allow any police officer to confiscate your motorcycle and terminate your license permanently, if he considers you to be operating the bike in a reckless manner... reckless being up to the judgment of the cop.

If this happens in FL, and is allowed to become law, you will see a flurry of similar laws nationwide, essentially leaving it up to law enforcement to establish and enforce such laws. Can you imagine if this same bill was submitted and aimed at cages? Any officer, at HIS DISCRETION, could state you were operating your vehicle in a reckless manner; (as determined by THAT officer) and thereby allow him to place you in jail, suspend your driver's license and confiscate your vehicle. Under this law people... you do NOT get the vehicle back. It becomes the property of the State!

This law is written in such general terms it leaves the door wide open for abuse by law enforcement, and you KNOW it will be abused. Anyone with a patch, let alone anyone with a bike, can and will be considered reckless, loose his/her license and his/her bike. No more bikers.

Please repost this and please contact the people sponsoring this bill and bitch like hell... but do it nicely!

Motorcycles or Mopeds/Reckless Driving: Provides that if a person is operating or is in actual physical control of a motorcycle while driving recklessly, a law enforcement officer shall arrest the person, take him or her into custody, and seize the motorcycle. Requires that a person riding on a motorcyle or moped must ride while sitting astride the seat with one leg on each side and with both wheels on the ground at all times, etc.

Whats this world coming to? They are giving more and more power to the cops who are in no position to make life changing decisions. Look at NYC police they more or less hire anyone who is willing to work for 23,000 a year and then wonder why they shoot people 50 times. Although I dont know him the worst story of the day is how sic G got railroaded.

yea i heard about this and its pretty ******* stupid i think. really show some facts that there is more wrecks/deaths from people riding a wheelie? so many people are going to run now and the law cant chase down there so why are they passing it cause everyone thats going to be doing a wheelie will take off if seen. just my .02
