Valve Clearance

If my bike holds together until I have over 6000 miles on it I am supposed to go and have the valve clearance checked. Is this something I should go to the dealer for? I have looped, dropped , wheelied badly, and endoed it for the majority of its life thus far.

Just wondering if everyone else goes to the dealer and coughs up the cash to have this looked at.

This is a big job for someone who has never done it. If you want to try, email me and I'll fill you in on the details. I have all the charts for adjustements as well....
