Need help on using student loans to buy a bike????

The school I go to has a trimester schedule. I am done with the 2nd trimester this wednesday and am not returning for the 3rd. I get $7,000 every trimester because I took out $21,000 in loans for this school year. Is there anyway possible I can get the 7,000 for the next term even though I am not going to school?? I know alot of you have done this so help a brother out. THe loan is thru sallie mae if it helps at all. None of the money is financial aid it is all Private loans.

Any help would be appreciated.

well i dont think there is any way you can be sneeky about it and trick the school. i would go and tell the school whats going on but dont tell them its for a bike. i know up here i wouldnt have access but that is also cause university only costs about $3500 a year in canada

Start off going to school for your second semester, once you get the coin, drop out. If they get into why you dropped out just say family problems.

I guess I should call and see what the deadline is for dropping and getting reimbursed on classes. I have an apt. off campus and I get money for that too with the loan.

LMFAO! I thaught I was the only one that ever tried this. I don't know what you're specific situation is, but this is what I did. I was a little afraid when I did it, so I started out small. I asked if I could take out $2000 for living expenses. They cut the check to the school and then the school handed it over to me. Then a couple months later I took out $5000 for the same reason and it worked again. :YEAH Now that's a low interest bike loan. My loans were financial aid (not grants) and it was through AES. Let us know how this works out.

I do what he did. SChool gets the check then you get the cash. Say you need money for housing, books, think of something. I'd say the only way you could get some more money is if you are enrolled as a full-time again. If I'm not enrolled full-time (12 crdits) I dont get anything.

Re: Need help on using student loans to buy a bike????

I was in college for 6 years(got 2 degrees though-still useless, but a great party)

be full time w/ 12 credits. The loan goes to the school, you get whats left over. drop out before the deadline and get all back.

I wouldn't reccommend doing this though.

I always got around a grand back each semester. Now that I am out of school(for 6 years) I still haven't gotten a job in either field and have 30K in loans I am paying on.

If at anytime you ever want to buy a house(like I am trying now) that amount of debt verse income( I work at a bike shop for ****) is killing me even though I have over a 700 credit score.

I thought I was smart paying off my trucks and bikes(for the breif period I did have a kick *** job) but that turned out to be useless in the end b/c they are not worth anything in that situation.

Your besty best is to find a credit union in your area b/c they have the best rates

good luck
