Sounds good!
However I don't have a "leather" jacket but it is a motorcycle jacket with armour and I wear a spine protector always.......

Re: Stunters wanted for exhibition in Tassie

Ok guys i'll clear a few things up for ya.

This will be at Symmonds Plains, not Basky. SORRY for any confusion there.

Draggins "SHOULD" be ok but will have to clarify it first as i've only just sorted out the insurance and PL side of things

Ned your jacket shouldn't be a problem either, JB depending on the weather mate you will probably want your jacket anyhow to keep you warm and fuzzy

The Joe's Garage Stunt Team if they are still around???) will not have anything to do with this but maybe for future events

I put forward the stunt displays to try and incorporate them into the Drift demo's.

This was to try and help stooge out as much as possible so hopefully the next time will be a paid gig and to take some of the pressure of myself as what i wanted to do i will not have time to organise for this event.

If you guys are wanting to stay in Hobart then im sure between me and stooge we should be able to put you up for a night or 2 so you dont have to worry about accomodation at all!!!

The offer is there if you want it

Im meeting with another 3 sponsors 2morrow so will try and get a little bit of finacial help to you guys as well if i can

Good work GMB. Ill be meeting up with one of the new owners of Bikeworks on the weekend to see if they can chip in. So lets hope we can do something here. Also, do you know if the guys can piggy back on the freight etc etc the other interstate drivers are using? Maybe they have got a discount on the boat, so it could apply to any one coming down here.

I didnt realise that it was at Symmons. I thought they wouldnt allow for drifting on the new surface, hence why i presumed Baski track.

Had a quick chat to the boys @ Bikeworks to try and get some tyres and was going to have a chat about the weekend, but seeing as your doing it you save me a trip

You talking to Tony and Brian as well i take it stooge???

Not sure about the race car drivers but it would be interesting to try and find out about frieght and getting the guys bikes over if we can, i'll look into and see what i can find out

As you would know Drift wasn't/isn't/hasn't been allowed on either of our tracks for a number of reasons.

I've been working on this for over 6months now and its finally all coming together.

We are doing the demo's over the this weekend as the numbers are supposed to be pretty big and also there maybe a chance at TV coverage as well which is always nice.

This is the weekend in question:
http://www.motorsportstas.com.au/ME.php?sm=2&id=4

I'll let you all know how i go today and 2morrow and get back to you

Re: Stunters wanted for exhibition in Tassie

OK, heres an update and info from some of the questions. I spoke with the track manager this afternoon, and the answers are:

1) Camping on the track at Symmons is permitted
2) Public liability is covered, and safety gear is up to your choice. But, lets just say kids will be watchin, so if you got a leather jacket, wear it (its prolly gona be coldish anyways)
3) No real limit to number of riders, but I recon 6-8 would be max anyways.
4) Also on the http://www.spiritoftasmania.com.au web site, theres a Tassie Event thing that may assist with discounts. When I find the proper link, ill post it up.
5) There are some track rules which he specified, but ill cover that when you are here.

Cheers,

Re: Stunters wanted for exhibition in Tassie

Bender/Ned/JB/Munkey, maybe we should look at getting some T-Shirts printed up and take some merchandise with us to help fund our little trip?

What do ya think? I am going to bring some copies of CDS down too, so maybe we can sell it like a package deal (whats the bet cholo says I stole his idea )...

I am going to hit up a few companies soon to try and see if I can score a few dollars to help us out too.

This is gonna be awesome fun! :YEAH

Ohh, I forgot to ask... how many spectators are you expecting (just so I have a rough idea how many DVDs (and possibly T-Shirts) I should bring?

Re: Stunters wanted for exhibition in Tassie

I was gona call you Dan, but ill post it here since you already brought it up. A few shops will be interested in stocking some, plus bring some down to sell to the spectators for sure!! Dont know about spectator numbers, but I think if you can bring down a good 50 DVD's you should be able to sell them at the track and some at shops.

Re: Stunters wanted for exhibition in Tassie

Dan, if your making T-shirts, I want one.
Stooge & GMB great work on making this happen, and if you are stuggling for accomadation, tell the guys to ring me coz you know my mums 3 bdrm house in Lenah Valley is empty at the moment.
Also, the spirit of tas must leave 20% of its cabins un booked, so you can book a "deck chair ticket" then upgrade once underway and save $50-100. Fug I wish I could be there, but my lack of skill is a major issue!

******, mate, that 3bdr house would be sweeeet if the guys can use it. You know my place has no room, and Lenah Valley is close. Ill call you later to talk more about it.

As for you being here, you can still come mate, nothing stopping you from being part of it, even if you prefered not to stunt. Would be good for you to meet these guys too, even tho they are painfull at times hehe

Believe me, I'd love to be there, and having met Boxer and idiots inc. has made me even more keen to meet the rest of you muppets (my standups have improved by 10-15degrees just from watching Boxer on my 600). But I gotta wait till the vic championships, by then I reckon I'll have 10o'clock wheelies on lock:YEAH
