Re: 2 or 4 sroke

my 650 is untouchable
my 650 is untouchable
Re: 2 or 4 sroke
Alright let me correct myself the xr 650 is the only bike that can run with it.and stay within 2-3 bike lengths.
It blows my 426 away after 3rd gear. But I still would bet a load on my kx in a drag With me on it, against just about anything out there.
no offence, but that is what I have exp. time and time again. In a 1/4 mile no way the top speed on my kx is over 100mph. 1/8 mile maybee a little better for the xr, off the line the kx hard to hook up.
We drag them all day in Indiana.

you guys are living in lala land ill take a nice ktm over it any day but the only ktm that will keep up is the 700 a kx 500 will keep up with my xr650 dont make me laugh a kx 500 is a joke compared to my 650 at the dirt drags i dominate 426s all day they are not even a challenge and this bike is stock except for a performance carb that added 20 horses
you guys are DREAMING
as for my 125 i would like too see you guys keep up on a motocross track
by the way how does that 92' suspension handle 60 ft doubles?

Re: 2 or 4 sroke
Im sure it takes em better than that *50. And your *50 wouldnt have a change against a 525. The beast has a * speed wide ratio (do you know what that means?) tranny. And if you never installed the factory power up kit or did the stuff yourself your *50 would be all plugged up.
Re: 2 or 4 sroke
you guys are cracked out and ya i know what a * gear wide ratio is
if a 525 is so fast then why has it lost every year in the big bike shoot outs
the *50 has been the leader in that field for the better part of ten years
you guys sure love to talk **** with out anything to back it up
have you ever ridden a *50 ive ridden the newer kx 500 and they are slugs
if you want to talk about older fast bikes my friend has a 92 husquvarna 430
bored out to 500 and ported with a performance mikuni carb and hgs pipe
at the drag strip ive seen it destroy built corvettes

Re: 2 or 4 sroke
bench racers suck. KTM 125's suck. Why does NOBODY include them in the 125 shootouts? If they do, they do shitty cause they can't handle for ****, which is pretty bad cause they have all the fancy big name parts on em. You must have a "magic" carburetor that alone gives 20hp. The XR650 is HEAVY and can't be compared with motocross bikes, it's a desert racer like the KX500. And last but not least, pussies ride hoped up 50's.

2. You need to seriously pay more attention in school because you can't spell at all.
3. I'm not going to keep arguing with an immature kid.
4. TM's aren't the same as KTM's, just because they both have Excel rims and Brembo brakes don't make them the same, plus they are made in two completely different countries. TM's have far superior suspensions and motors.
5. Any dirt mag will tell you that the power difference between a 426 and a 450 is barely detectable. I ride with YZF 450's and CRF450's and there is no difference in real world riding. Not all of us are "fantasy dreamers" like you thinking we are the king's of the track.
Good nite you little bastard, you need to listen twice as much as you speak. And maybe post your age so that men don't get caught up arguing with children like yourself.
Re: 2 or 4 sroke
im tired of you making **** up who even said anything about 450s being different tms have wp suspension and ktms have wp suspension
your talking about a bike you dont have or ridden hell you probably haventeven seen one in person they both have the same handling characteristics and suspension so i have no idea what your shooting your mouth off about

Re: 2 or 4 sroke
Well Im 15 also. 2 strokes are not dead, there are many many people who refuse to buy them. There is a pretty good chance of me gettinga four stroke next, but just the maintinance and the proce to do it is crazy. My oil burner goes a good 75-80 hours without ever touching the motor. Now your motor with around 100 (just a rust estamate) moving parts SHOULD have its shimmed every 25-30 hours (being yours is Yamaha). And 125KTM, you are acting like a idiot. You don't know how to type, and I bet you are one of the people who bring there bike into the shop and pay them to check out what a little squeek is or to have your chain adjusted or air filter cleaned. I bet you don't even know the differance in a four stroke our two stroke motor, why teh two stroke makes more power for size, why the two stroke is lighter, why two strokes need to have oil in the gas or anything about the motors. You need to shut up and learn about bikes before you post on how four strokes suck.

Lets tally up the 2 bikes: 2 stroke- 10 NGK race plugs $80. 4 qts. Amsoil Race syn 2 stroke oil $38. Assorted jets and needles $75. 2 Clutches $220. 10 qts Honda race trans fluid $85. 2 sets CF reeds $80. This comes to a total of $588 a season, minus gas. For the 4 stroke- 2 NGK race plugs $16, 10 qts Amsoil 20w50 synthetic $80, 15 Hiflofiltro oil filters $105, Hotcams shim kit $100. 1 clutch $110. I will also add 1 DID 520 gold ERT chain $60 (the thumpers tend to eat the chains faster), for a total of $471 minus gas. This actually shows that the 4 stroke is actually CHEAPER to maintain. Now I didn't add pistons and sleeves for the 2 stroke or valve job and pistons for the 4 stroke cause those too are actually the same price if you add them up. This is just my perspective on the issue. I was a Die Hard Honda fan until it came to upgrading to the 4 stroke because I REALLY don't like the perimeter aluminum frame on the Honda, it's hard as hell to work on the carb, valves for maintanence. That's why I got the Yamaha. The 4 strokes may be a little heavier, but the bikes are much better and much more powerful.

Re: 2 or 4 sroke
Why would I? He can't even type. and about your maintinance costs, yes, if you maintain four strokes they aren't to bad (and I guess some aftermarket valves last forever) but if you just ride it and think the motor will last for ever you will have some serious trouble. After the first couple valve adjustments you should replace the valves and springs and they will last for a long time. But you also have a 426, one of the most reliable MX 4 strokes ever. Yamaha has the best reliability of all the brands on four strokes it seams. But when it comes time to do your topend and you need yours valves recut and its the second time usually it can't be done and you need a new head (depends on how much was taken of both times). And on your 2 stroke maintinance, you did have alot of extra stuff for your 2 strokes like 2 sets of reeds a season? I got 2 season out of my stockers. And I got 2 season on a clutch. But I will probably get a four stroke for my next bike.
