good bike for me?

I would like to get into the type of riding you guys do (wich is awesome!) and I was wondering what would be a good bike for me since I am 125lb? I would mess around on my grizzly 600 but its too big. would a warrior be good?

I'm only 15 , but I weigh 195lbs. 300ex would probably fit you perfect now, but the 400 will give you plenty room to grow. I guess go with the 300 now and in a year or two sell it and get a 400. But you can get a good 400ex for $3000

I ride a 300 and its light pops up easy and is a good learning bike. The only problems are it stalls out if not nuff gas and it leaks gas out fast. But other then that its good..

None of the other CVBz have responded yet so here's my

Believe it or not.... Tiller sometimes knows what he's talking about. You would be better off "starting" with the 300ex. Chances are, when learning to ride, you will roll it, flip it or flop it.... no questions asked. So, for the price of the 10yr old machine... you can't go wrong. In a couple years, you'll be bigger and ready for the 400... and you should be able to pick up a 99' for 2 G's or so. Good luck and show us some pics!

Re: good bike for me?

I don't think you could go wrong with either a 400ex or a 300ex. A 300ex might fit you better right now...they are a little smaller, and have a shorter wheelbase which actually makes them really good wheelie machines.

As for your age and size and everything here is my opinion...if you can drive a 300ex, you can drive a 400ex....sure the 400 has more power, but not so much that it's like going from a Ninja 250 to a GSXR 1000.

I rode my buddies 300ex last summer and I really liked it....all I woulda done to it is put a slip on exhaust on for a little more torque. As I was saying, the short wheelbase makes up for the lack of power, it comes up about as easy as my EX does, and stoppies are good also.

Either one of those would be a good choice.

Keep us posted man.

Re: good bike for me?

i'd jsu get a 400, i mean you might as well, your 15, your gonna grow, so while your gettin a quad, go all out, the 300 pisses gas out when u wheelie thjat fugger, thats bout the only downside to a 300.

Re: good bike for me?

What If i got a z250? They are cheap, I would be able to throw it around easier, and when I tear it up it wont be as much as a loss.

As far as I know those are auto clutch right? For stunting I would prefer a clutch. Also, the Honda 250ex got a much better review in just about ever category than the z250 did.

The choice is up to you man....personally if it were me I would look for a used 400ex...if money is an issue, then I'd look for a used 300ex....you can find those for decent prices....$1500 or so. That's just my opinion.

Good luck bro.

Re: good bike for me?

When I was 15 I was all over the 400EX. Don't be skurred of a little extra power. Better brakes and clutch, better to grow into. And it's always nice to have too much power.

Re: good bike for me?

Believe me bro u def. dont want a 250. Most people pick up quading real quick and i got a 400ex when i was 14 and its fine. The 250 will get boring after a while. Your going to want clutch bro. 400 ex all the way
