Dude... if you've ridden it... then it's finished. Jetting isn't so bad... just time consuming. If you don't have it fixed by the weekend, I'll be happy to help where I can.

Did you change anything with the carb since it last ran?
Are you running a new exhaust or intake?
What clip is your needle on?... out of how many slots?
What main jet are you running and what's stock supposed to be at sea level?
Has the carb had a good douching since the rebuild?
Is that the stock carb for that motor?
Lastly... how many turns "out" is the air/fuel screw?

Its a different exhaust from before...but they are both pretty open exhausts....carb hasent been cleaned...not sure what the settings are at because i havent torn it apart since i've owned it...i dont wanna mess with it much because i'm going to be putting a 400ex carb on it soon anyways. Jordans trying to line one up for me.

Then I've gotta ask... what makes you think it's a jetting issue? You telling me that it hasn't been cleaned leads me to think it might be clogged. And if it is a jetting issue, then we'll play with it till it's running right... no biggie.

Because its puffing black smoke..and the plug came out black black black...so black Al Sharpton would represent it if i touched it wrong! It runs decent if you evenly move into the throttle..if you try blipping it from idle it wants to brake down...also when you left off its got major backfire/popping...which all is making me think its way too rich...you gotta remember that the most riding i did with it was in the colder months and i bought it in january.

Gotcha. Either way, we're going to have to tear into the carb to fix the problem. Make sure you have some carb cleaner handy. I'll be rolling through Rouses Point around 8:30pm - 9pm.

I just bought my first boat this spring. It's super expensive but I wouldn't trade it for anything except maybe a bigger boat.

You're talking big money to get into a boat like that. My father has a 23' Stingray Cabin Cruiser that will do 70 mph. Best of both worlds but it's a 1995 and still is worth about 20K.
