Wheelies(Tire Pressure)

I notice when people are freestyling they have low tire pressure. Is this for any certain reason or all in my head?

More control side 2 side. I personally like to run high pressure unless I'm doing something requires low pressure.

Re: Wheelies(Tire Pressure)

I run low pressure because I don't have to be as smooth with the throttle. I find that with higher PSI, the quad is more twitchy in a wheelie.

Yup that is also true.

Bryan still doesn't believe me....I don't think he's ever run less than 13psi in his tires.

Do you guys actually bring a guage with you while riding? I don't even know what my tires have for PSI.... ever. I judge pressure by how hard it is to compress the tire with my foot.... not by PSI. And when stunt practicing... I just let a ton of air out and then fine tune it untill the quad stays straight while in a wheelie. Guage?... yes or no?

I usually just judge the air pressure by doing a wheelie. I think mine are 3-4 psi. When I do 2-ups, it's almost on the rims. :YEAH

I don't bring one.....Bryan has told me how much he runs though.

I do the old foot on tire technique too...unfortunately one of my rims leaks like a **** so just as soon as I get dialed in, it's back to square one.

Well agreed, I just thought there was a reason why everyone does. I usually dont but from now on I think I am going to try it.

Just keep in mind that even if you have equal PSI in both tires... you still may turn while in a wheelie due to one tire being softer than the other. Yes, even if they're the same brand and model tire.
