wheelies
wheelies
ok.. ive had my fiddy for about a month.. up until recently i havent had much time to ride it.. this past week ive been ridin everyday just workin on my wheelies and stoppies and stuff.. are these things just naturally hard to keep on one wheel or am i just inexperienced.. i can only ride one for about 20 ft.. most of them are less than that.. i get it to bp, and work the throttle to keep it there, but it either loops.. or falls back down.. any tips.. suggestions?? anything? i know i probably just need more practice.. but i just figured i would ask around... oh. and my bike is pretty much completely stock.. i straightened the factory bars until i get the $$ for a big bar set up.. thanks for any help..
Re: wheelies
ya just practice man you have it down in no time just start workin the back brake with the throttle i personally think its the back brake with balance point my friend is good but every now and then he loops it cause he doesnt ever use the back brake its a must i think especially if you ahve a 12 bar back there and you loop it that thing will catch your leg and give you a nice cut that would suck so only real advice i have is get the back brake cordinated with everything and keep practicing is most of it
PS................i dont mean to sound like a know it all though so sorry if i do

Re: wheelies
thanks.. i figured i just needed more practice.. i still cant get used to the back brake.. my foot just doesnt fit there that well and the brake is way to small for my shoe to catch.. i would get a handbrake.. but thats kinda cheating.. but anyways.. thanks for the input.. and when i get all moved in ill give you a call and we can go ride..
Re: wheelies
cool man by the way they do sell some aftermarket brake pedals that are bigger they look cooler and everything but it your case they are bigger and stick out more hope that helps ill try to find you a link and post it up

Re: wheelies
back brake is the key. easiest way to learn to use it is use it on every wheelie whether you need it or not. just keep tellin your self to hit the brake to set em down. then just ride all your wheelies a little past balance point and just nudge the brake to keep you there. after a while youll use less brake and be able to use throttle only until you need it.
bigger bars will make it easier to get your foot on the brake, when mine were stock i used a piece of 1/4" steel with 2 sets of holes drilled in it that moved the bars forward about 3" which made a big difference. if youre anywhere around st louis you can have it, i dont need it anymore

Re: wheelies
send me that piece in the mail lol or post a pic of it if it really worked cause i always use stock bars but if they would go forward just a few inches might be better for my no hander standups
Re: wheelies
lol thats pretty cool ill try it actually what im lookin for is something to sit up stick up towards upper body when doin no hander standups on the 12 and and rear brake peg does it make it sit up towards you more i mean towards the top of your head
Re: wheelies
