I Busted My ***, Now My Fiddy Wont Shift

ANYONE KNOW WHAT'S UP, THE BIKE LANDED ON THE LEFT SIDE AND BENT MY SHIFTER UP. NO IT HAS A HARD TIME SHIFTING. IF I LET IT SIT AND TRY TO SHIFT THE GEARS IT WILL(HOLDING IT WITH MY HAND) BUT AS SOON AS I TRY DRIVING IT(RPMS ARE GOING UP) IT WILL NOT SNAP INTO SECOND.(EVERYNOW AND THEN IT DOES, BUT IT' HARD AS HELL TO GET IT TO POP IN GEAR)

IT DID NOT EVEN FALL THAT BAD, I WAS ONLY IN SECOND.

IF ANYONE CAN HELP, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

THANKS

If bending your shift lever back doesn't help, you may have bend your shift rod. Good luck.

WELL WHAT HAPPEND IS I BENT THE SHIFTER TOO CLOSE TO THE CRANK CASE, SO WHEN I TRIED TO SHIFT IT UP, IT WOULD HIT THE CRANK CASE(IT WAS PUSHED IN TOO CLOSE) SO, SIMPLY TOOK IT OFF, AND BENT THE SHIFTER BACK TO SHAPE.

NO PROB, EVEN I DID IT, AND I SUCK AT WORKING ON BIKES.

Talking hehe...

screw the trouble of taking it off. I bend mine back all the time on the bike with a steal bar and pair of vise grips.

OK there are some things you should not admit to. That would have been one of them. And beleive me, you don't need any tools to bend your shifter back, just use your hands. That metal is soft, and I'm guessing it was made that way for a reason. My boy crashes often and the shifter bends everytime. If it didn't the shift rod would. So next time if you don't have any tools with you, lay you bike down and put one foot on each tire and pull your shifter back out.

Have fun and keep crashing
