mile long wheelies

how do you guys wheelie for blocks. do you lower your air pressure? i can go about 100 yds & then i get all wobbly. most of the time it comes up good but i cant keep it up forever. i got rear brake down too and can slow it down but im always goin side to side. thanks for the help

Practice makes perfect my boy.

Lower tire pressure keeps the wobble at bay but you don't want to go so low that you get pinch flats.

Lower your front pressure for stoppies too.

I don't know if this will help or not but i've found that as soon as you bring it up into a wheelie keep your knees tight together against the tank and just move your knees side to side to counter balance the bike when needed.

yup yup... Keep those knees tight... The XR's are a bastard to prevent wobble... so knees have to be in DAMM tight..... Keep just a little drag on the rear brake, nice steady throttle, perfect balance point so that you are not needing major brake, smoke a fatty and have a dozen beers.... THOSE ARE ALL MY secrets

when your doing far wheelies find the balance point and ride the brake to keep it there and you shouldnt even have to bother doing anything to your tires. the trick is to keep a constant speed and if you get going to fast give it a handful of throttle and pull back to get it strait up the use the brake to slow yourself down

it also helps to try to sit as close to the bars as you can...This raises the balace point so your front wheel is higher, so if you start to fall down, you can just slide back on the seat and still maitain the wheelie. This is the best trick I use (longest 2 miles)

I've never gone a mile yet, I'm worried I'll wreck the engine doin that ****. When you're doin a wheelie there's on oil gettin to alot of parts. Goin for that long doesn't sound too good for the machine. I suppose of yoou kinda shake it aorund every now and then durin a wheelie (blippin the throttle) it wouold help. I dont want to wreck a 5 week old fiddy engine though. I'm not a rich bastard, at least not yet...

ya, the tire pressure thing helps, just don't go off road with the tire down, practice with the tire low, then air it back up, i learned with the tire low, now i just keep it regular.....

you guys are funny...

the major reason you get whobble on a 50 (this is not the same as a big bike) is cuz you put more weight on on the pegs....to much on the left.....blaa blaa bla....to much on the right....you get it?

so if you are having a prob holdin a straight line is cuz you have to much weight on one side....work on being weightless (this also will help for one handers, no handers....ect)

after talking about being on one wheel....i just want to go out and ride....to bad its in the 20's....BS weather.

lack of oil

I dont think I have ever seen a 50 have a "lack of oil problem" These F**ckers are built like a tank. Honda has used the same engine for like a thousand years and hardly changed anything in them. Besides, look at everyone who rides these things on this site. I dont think anyone has really even though twice about it. Even if the bike is 5 weeks old, its a 50, ride the GD thing!
