Been using my MX helmet on and off. They say theyre good for one good crash. Used that one the other bike...3rd gear (i think) out of a burm and across a rut into a tree. No cracks in it but snapped an air vent....... think its fiddy worthy. go thru more jeans than anything...knees startin to look rough. thinkin so skater knee pads may be next mission

Re: whos rocking helmets

I used to only wear helmets when I was jumping. But now I'm getting pretty good at 2nd gears and you get going pretty damn fast. So I fugred why not wear a helmet. Plus I found a Fulmer on Close out at my local shop it's snell and D.O.T. approved and it was only $60 bucks plus it looks bad ***. So Helmet's are on for now on with me.

Helmet now and your brain will thank you later!

I always wear gloves.. Occasionally I'll throw on my street helmet for the really stupid ****. I rarely crash anymore, but even when I do, I always know its coming soon enough to brace myself..

Helmet and gloves. Everytime. I used to stunt the Killin' Spree with no lid, then I caught the kid down the block trying to learn wheelies on his Z50 with no lid..so I told him I set a bad example and he should always wear gear. Same deal with my daughter. She didn't want to wear her bicycle helmet since "you don't wear yours daddy..".

Especially since
1. I'm still getting up to speed on the fiddy
2. I have a wife and 2 small kids to provide for

Seeing guys stunt big bikes with no lid turns my stomach...

Right on Jay... It dosen't take much impact to the head to turn you into a vegtable. A few years ago a rider in the Tour da France DIDED when he crashed his 10 speed bicycle with out a helmet. ( humans = Fragile)
Impact = and I have crashed Plenty of times belive me.

Re: whos rocking helmets

I know I should wear my more often. Especially since I'm still pretty sketchy on the Fiddy wheelies. My theory was that I put it on any time I do anything other than first gear... but then I started getting cocky, and just wadded it big time on Sunday (the Dirty Superman). I got REALLY lucky and managed to take 2-3 steps on the concrete and went sailing full speed into the grass and bonked my arm/shoulder/face into the mud. If it had been concrete, I'd be WAAAY f*cked up right now.

Lid is going back on for sure now.

Re: whos rocking helmets

It ain't how fast you're going, it's how hard you hit.

You can crack your head wide open crashing at 5 mph.

Re: whos rocking helmets

i know first hand that the fiddy can F*CK YOU UP, ROYALLY. i watched my boy break his back by smashing my minty fiddy into a goddamn tree (https://www.stuntlife.com/forums/13-xr50-minibike-forums/65801-broken-back.html). esp. now that it's spring and i don't necessarily need to wear a beanie or something warm on my head, i think i'll wear my helmet a lot more.
